Gloves that don't stain!

Well, I have had my PMI gloves for like 1 1/2 years and they are great, except that they turn my hands black after I'm done using them. It would be cool, but it doesn't wash off, and the only way I have found is bleaching your hands to get it off. What gloves do you have, how do you like them, and do they stain your hands?

ha my friend had those gloves. His hands were always jet black so i bought him some Dye gloves. They didnt stain as much but they still turned his hands a bit black. i have some JT crappy gloves that dont stain too bad. They tend to stain my wrists where the strap is but my fingers never get too dark

A few you might want to look at

Raven Morphion's. Tey dn't stain, but they'[re also sweat barriers. translation : They don't breathe.

The Nexed ones didn't used to stain, but lately they have been. But, they're not TOO bad.

I've got some of those "flame" Raven gloves (they are pretty old). I've never had any trouble with staining. Hmm... they are pretty comfy, too.

Yeah, I can handle alittle staining, but these pmi stain both sides of my hand A LOT, I'll look into the Nexus ones, they also look cool:cool:

I have a pair of old 2k2 dyes that are all scragely (sp?) and torn up...people sometimes ask why I dont get new ones....they DO NOT stain hands, and I wouldnt sell them unless somebody was willing to pay 30 bucks for them :cool: You cant beat non staining gloves, and I mean NO staining.

2002 Dye. They stained for the first month or two. They don't anymore though.

Anything with a natural clarino or nylon palm won't stain your hands. I have a pair of JT premier 2k(?) and they stain my hands hardcore every time I play.

run hot water thru ur pmi gloves and it takes sum of that dye out........doesnt stain as much.......other wise get like jt's or sumthin

I think you can soak em in vinegar for a lil bit then rinse em out. it should keep it color fast.

i just use fox motocross gloves they dont stain at all. i just cut half of the thumb index and middle finger off.

I have a pair of 03 DYEs, they stain like little kids int the grass. Then oooze black, I need to run my gloves under water and dry them 2 days before I go playing. They are great gloves anyway I couldn't care more.

my dye 03's stain my hands like crazy. by the end of the day my hands are black and so is my face because it rubs off when i wipe the sweat from my face.

Possibly soaking them in salt water would help? I know that's a good way to set dye in fabrics. Alternately, if you don't care about armored fingers or looking cool you could just get non-paintball gloves. I have been using sailing gloves made of synthetic leather - they're designed to get wet without getting stiff, take a lot of abrasion, they're light and breathable, come with full or half fingers, BUT they don't offer much in the way of padding. Other people I know either wear mechanic's gloves or deal with black stains from the Dye gloves.

Yes, this winter I was thinking of getting all new gloves as well (for me and the kids). And the black staining is a top issue with us as well. This is also a reason I have been considering going outside the paintball industry for the gloves.

Could folks who use “other industry” gloves post what they use, how they are, what they cost, etc.?

I think the black stuff that comes out of the DYE gloves is just absorbed paint. When ever I took a breech shot in my mag this black stuff would form around the bolt similar to what oozes out of my DYE gloves. If you wash them enough till the black stop comings out and dry them a few days before you play you should be fine. I've never got my hands stained playing if I wash them before.

Thanks, that is exactly what I want to see from folks….

As for padding… bah.. I don’t need “armored” gloves. All I really want is an extra layer of protection so that the paintballs don’t rip the skin (which can happen as we all know… and more so if the temps are just a bit chilly). My “protection” is not from pain, but from skin breakage and abrasion (as you said). ;)

Guys guys guys. Its all to do with drying the glove properly before you use it. You should wash the glove after use (and if you leave it in your kit bag till the next time you play then more fool you) as you get sweat, paint, coffee etc on them. If you don't wash the glove and then dry it properly it will stain you.

Try it. If it stains, it probably ain't dry.

I've tried quite a few different brands. The easiest solution is to get the gloves you think feel the best, then make them bleed all the excess dye out. There have been a few different options already given. Personally I just throw a new pair in the wash. They will bleed out excess dye in the washing machine, so don't wash with your regular clothes. What I do is wait till I've got a load of dirty stuff from playing and throw the new pair in with all my other gear. If they still stain after you wash them once, repeat.

I've had to sew mine a couple times so they wouldnt completely fall apart, but they are worth trying to save

I have a pair of JT premiere 2K i think... They have never stained me, even after i wore them the first time with no pre-wash. I love these gloves and Im not looking forward to the day i need to replace them... :(

I just use my old pair of Axo MX gloves. Clarino palm(padded too), with lycra side panels on the fingers, and neoprene over the knuckles. Best gloves i ever had. cost 40 bucks though. Not sure what the new ones are like, but I would buy them again in a second.

I use JT that stain, dye that stain, and wake boarding gloves. I normally don't care, but if I'm gonna be doing something where I'll care if my hands are stained I just throw a pair of those disposable plastic sanitary gloves (like the ones doctors use) as a liner.

Hatch Tactical make ome really nice glove. Their specialist glove are pretty nice,

Blackhawk tactical make good ones too. The hellstorm ones are really nice, i have a pair, they fit great and have great wrist support too.
