I first noticed this when I first got my revvy new but I have not used it for about a year now and it still smells? Why is this and can you do anything about it?

My garbage can is the same way... Doesn't smell like garbage, but smells like funky plastic...

most anything related to paintball will have a strange smell....including the players :)

hehe, i have the same problem.
i've tried all kinds of industrial strength
cleaning disolvents and whatnot.
ive soaked that thing in all kinds of
mixtures. but the smell always comes back...

eventually, i just learned to live with it.

I have 2 revvys and a couple pair of extra shells. I noticed that the Pre-BE or any old revvy smells. No matter what you do to it, it still smells. However, the newer shells don't have any odor but seem to weaker than the smelly shells. I'm not sure if this is just isolated to me though.

My Evolution 2 doesnt have a smell to it...now that I think of it....the revvy has a horrible one, good thing its not mine.

I say we start a band of hooling rebellers who rebel against people that think rebelling against rebellions is kool.

I have actually been saying "smell my revvie" to some of my friends. I have a Pre-BE and I havent tried too hard to make it smell better, so it smells like paint and other things. Combined, it almost makes people faint. Yes, I am a kid with a smelly hopper

Everyone (revy) I have ever seen smells like *** out of the box, lol. Plus paint smells like poo too.

I bought an old revvy used off someone who melted out pieces of it to rig up some wierd inteli-feed system on his gun. You can imagine how bad this thing smells. The melted areas greatly enhance the odor...If I put it in a gear bag with the rest of my stuff and open it later, the whole bag smells like my hopper!!!

Ever notice how a lot of shops at fields smell like feet? It's all the old paint residue. An ionizer is the only way I have found to get rid of it.
But, I think all VL's and the rest of the brass eagle products reek anyway, lol.

Buy one of those little personal air filter things and put it in your hopper :)

Mine really really smells. I don't know why, but I usually end up smelling mine after every time I play... I don't know why. :(

mine smelled really bad too but then my dad washed it out and put some kinda pineapple oil in it and it went into the plastic and now it always smells liek pineapples:D

Yeah I just got a new revvy and is smells raunchy. I put it in RIT dye, and that only amplified the aroma. Ugh! Now everytime I hold my gun that's all I smell. Kinda reminds me of my ride home from the Gravity Midwest Open at Stalker, stuck in the car with 3 very smelly AGD Pride guys after they won the tourney.

Ha! I'll make sure to tell the guys that they smell like a brand new Revy that's just been dipped in RIT dye after they play a tourny. ;)

Uh oh, Scooter (the eyes and ears of the forum) is gonna bust me out to the rest of the Pride guys. :D But really....those guys ALL know the level of stank that was in that car on the way home. Try....revvy stench times 2.

what would be cool is to measure smells by revvy units, e.g. "that fart was worth at least 2 revvies!"

Okay, I just sprayed my hopper with febreeze but I'm still waiting for it to dry. I'll post the results.

when i got my clear pre be revvy in the mail i opened the box and sprayed some gucchi rush on it... it smelled like vinegar/pickle juice or something.. it was scary.

my wonderful cracked be ones dont smell, and my old 9v didnt either.. and the ricochet was fine too. neither of my eggs really smelled either. my clear warp was fine too, so i have no idea.. -idea- lets go smell halos!

my halo smells kinda odd too but thats probably from when it spontaneously combusted that one time (still havent sent it in to get fixed lol)

how about making a baking soda paste and brushing the shells with it? maybe that will kill the smell...

it actually smells hella good! :D my sister likes it lol
its just gotta dry a little ;)


so if you ask me, get some good cologne. you can buy some Domain from my mom if you want at 36$ a bottle :D

Well, I did the same with some pods when I got some paint which smelled about like 3 month old eggs.. it works too.. but make sure it dries :rolleyes:
I did the same with a revvy...
Go to the dollar store, get a bottle of tommy or whatever it is.. best paintball investment ever:)

Spraying febreez on something preexistingly smelly will be like crappin on a pine tree.
