Jim (Ripper Machinist) just posted this over on PBN and I thought you guys might be interested also. I have to say it's lovely to see it all come together!

Muhaha, Went to bobs shop and lookie what I find all assembled. Bob was gone and the other guy didnt object to me taking pics so here it is 8)

First is a **** load of balls in flight 8) Had to rip on it and have him take a shot.

Have to remember even though this is a near production model. Front of the reg cap is not milled.

And the bolt is not a production model. The production model will have the back cut near identical to the body.

Also this model does not have the new lcd and buttons. So you will see a on / off switch where your palm is. That will be replaced with a 3 button membrane in the final version.

And there is no Sticker on the back area of the grip yet.

Btw the new reg is shorter by 2 and 1/4 "s compared to a single reg with a volumizer on it. And this one is flowing way better. So a way smaller package with more performance.

Taking 2.25 inches off the reg makes it look so much better looking also.

Yes I believe it will. I was also talking to Jim about making them available for people as 'after market'. He likes the idea so I am going to work on Bob at World Cup ;) .

That looks nice enough to make me want to drive over to Delta and take a look at it. Too bad that pic alone is going to clobber resale for older timmys.

meh.. I never was a timmy fan.. I only liked the classics (with the cool swigly frame lol).. But this doesn't look that bad.. The millings always pretty cool on them, but you pay an arm and a leg for it

does anyone know when the 2k4's are gonna be up for sale? It seems like Bob has a darn good start on it considering that he still has two months until 2k4 and it seems like the only non-productions things on it were the bolt, on/off switch(es) and the reg cap. I could be wrong, but it seems that the 2k4 will be coming out not too far into 2k4 and thats impressive! considering the 2k3 shocker came out far more than half way through the year  . Then again thats spart parts so go firgure ;) .

And do you think he would take my arm and my leg for it? I'd take that deal :) . I love timmies.

They have come a long way since the classic.

manike,

Other than the grip frame, front reg block, and cosmetic body cuts, have there been any internal performance improvements?

Any changes to the internal working guts of the gun?

thanks

Of course it's not gonna be as nice as those timmies, this timmy is the equivlant of what the classics used to be. I do believe this will be the new classic timmy, and the dragon, tx storm, species, etc. which you were thinking of will keep on goin too and still has higher end timmies. The 2k4 is certainly a big step forward in my mind for the "classic" timmy if thats what this one will be called.

Ov3rmind
10-04-2003, 01:57 PM
Actually, I think this is going to be more than the current Timmys. The Empire version is $1400 I believe, I'm guessing this'll be around $1100 or so. That's a bit much for a new Classic.

UltimatePaintballer
10-04-2003, 02:32 PM
ok, gotcha. i just don't like the blue thing that the reg or gas thru is screwed into. it looks out of place

Yes and Yes!

This is a whole new level of intimidator. There has been a lot of time spent tweaking and developing the whole gun inside and out. It's been fine tuned throughout to make it perform the best it possibly can.

As for me making a cocker? Maybe someday, but nothing planned right now... I do have a CAD file of a cocker body... I've just never really done much with cockers.

lol, remember when the classics were the only timmys and one of their selling points was being affordable? so much for that.

I'm serious, as nice as that is, I don't think I could justify spending 1100 on a stock gun. For 200 more, I could get my an X-mag....and atleast I could talk to the president of the company about how cool my gun is gonna be when he finishes it.

Oh well, it looks nice, but a little beyond my train of thought.

fearc7
10-06-2003, 09:57 AM
Yeah so much for being affordable. But stock Timmies today are like mad upped classic timmies, so I see why they would charge more.

Nick O time
10-06-2003, 11:06 AM
i love that, my favorite part is how they moved the grip frame forward it looks like you could play so much tighter with that.

JEDI
10-06-2003, 11:37 AM
There's no 2003 Timmy? How could that be? There was like... 9 of them that came out this year. I thought one of them was labeled the 2003. Hmm....? Maybe I'm thinking of the storm, or the ecx? One of them was fairly basic.

I just got back from a weekend in Cali with Bob and the Assassins, practicing X-ball and testing out the new guns. Great bits of kit. I hit 19bps with a tourny legal timmy this weekend. I'm working on being able to truely hit the magical 20!

manike, can you give us some teasers regarding performance improvements of the 2k4 you noticed compared to your Ironmen Timmy?

manike
10-14-2003, 12:44 PM
Way smaller and lighter for starters! So much smaller that it's amazing to put them next to each other.

Stuff inside is still being finalised. I can't disclose anything else, but the 2K4 has been worked over COMPLETELY inside to increase performance.

Will all these improvements increase efficiency dramatically I wonder?

I think that is the next big thing in the industry.

manike
10-14-2003, 05:03 PM
I haven't specifically tested it yet for efficiency, so I don't know how dramatic the changes will be, but yes I believe many of the mods will help with efficiency. The gas paths have been improved as have the 'dead' air spaces. http://www.automags.org/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif
