Hey Steve.
Yea, I'm lovin it. It showed up two days after I ordered it, but I've only had it hooked up and running since last week.

Boy, you guys were right about tooling being the costly part of setting up a mill. It's all good though! I've had orders coming in the last few weeks so I have a good base to start with.

The hard part was figuring out what tools I would likely need. It's funny how much I learned just shopping for tools though. It's been a fun process.

Right now I have tools scattered everywhere because I don't have any tools boxes or cabinets built yet. So that's what I'm doing this weekend. I'm just trying to get organized so I can make some chips! :D

Hey luke,

Just wondering where your purchacing your tooling from?

I grab mostly used from swap meets and ebay but would like to find a good place for new stuff.

Big'n slo, Both companies have master catalogs they will send you for free. Enco seems to have better prices and will do price matching plus 5%. They also put out a magazine on a regular basis that have big discounts in them.

Sent for both master catalogs :D

Your definitely right about tooling costing more than the machines!

I've found great deals on ebay and swap meets for fixtures and jigs but unless its an absurdly great deal or a rough cutter I try to stay away from used cutting tools.

you guys might want to check out www.kbctools.com one
of my favorite toy(oops I ment tool) stores while I was
still living in Toronto.
Mostly "real" industrial tooling but a fair bit of "budget"
stuff as well.

I should point out that when it comes to endmills, drills,
taps and stuff like that, "budget" stuff will just not do

the pro tools will be by far the best bargain in the long run!

P.S. luke let me know when your ready to upgrade that puppy to cnc:cool:

Will do, thanks for the tip.

Yea, I figured that was the case. I just got the basic starter kits until I get a hangle on what I'm doing. I will upgrade to the good stuff once I get settled in.

Very cool, thanks.
