Decided I need more Rock in my life. I don't get enough of it. I listen to to much rap  . But I dont know any good(or any at all) bands.

I wanna find some stuff not to heavy but not Dave Matthews(eeww). I got some NiN on my comp now, really like them. Any suggestions?

Hmmmm.... depends on what you are into... but... here are a couple to try..

Billy Talent - "Try Honesty"
P.O.D. - "Will You" .. and "Boom"
The Dautsons - MFer From Hell (The real name violates the rules)
Smile Empty Soul - "Bottom of a Bottle"
Deftones - Hexagram
White Stripes - "Seven Nation Army" and "Hardest Button to button"

amen brotha. and how can you compare static x to nine inch nails? imo, they are light years apart. trent reznor actually had talent. and my in flames recommendation still stands. go to borders and buy reroute to remain. its got enough melody to be accesible, and youll be blown away by the guitars. proceed to buy all other in flames albums. they are the goodness.

I'm just saying that if he likes NIN he might like Static X, same kinda electro-metal...

no one mentioned TOOL, my favorite rock band to come out of the 90s and now THEY OWN YOU. They demand your worship now!
Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Smashing pumpkins, and led zepplin are all worth listening to. Radiohead and Coldplay are nice mellow rock bands.

Check out skinless. They're like, my favorite band for about 6 months. Probably to heavy for you, but oh well.

It you like the sound of schism by tool, then check out the rest of tool's stuff. AEnima is definetly my favorite tool album. All their stuff is awesome, but definetly get some songs off AEnima. Download 'hooker with a penis', 'aenima', 'forty six "&2'. Well. I'm just gonna list the whole album. It rocks.

Also, maybe check out some ill nino. I love them. Hatebreed, spineshank, fear factory, mudvayne, rammstein, rage against the machine, slayer.....I could go on for a long time but I wont.

AFI is an incredible band, just be sure to start off with "Black Sails in the Sunset" or "The Art of Drowning." Sing the Sorrow is a disgrace to all of their previous works.

Some other bands:

Thrice
The Blood Brothers
Thursday
Avenged Sevenfold (if you decide to go heavy)

I like all of them, not all strictly rock, but they have instruments. :)

Not much of a fan of Yellowcard, Incubus has some good stuff. Greenday is great, althought they have a couple cd's I don't care for Dookie I think is there best.
Oh, and I discovered Soil and a few others are good bands, keep them comming :)

You know what works fairly well for finding new music.
Go to www.cdnow.com, and search for your favorite bands. It will say people who have bought this cd also bought these cd's, somtimes you find some good stuff that way.
