We have sad news to report: Tom's father, George Kotsiopoulos, passed away some time last night (October 7). Obvoiusly, Tom will be out of the office for awhile.

We do not yet have any information regarding a wake, visitation, or funeral. We will post this information when it becomes available.

We would appreciate it if you would not call us at the factory asking for details.

We thank everyone for your good wishes and condolences.

damn.....thats pretty bad. im so sorry tom. i dont know what its like to lose a major family member but i can immagine it would be very difficult. in this time of grief, turn to god for help and he will be there for you. i'll pray for you and your family.

I echo what Tuna said, you dad must have been a very happy father to have had a son like you.

I lost my dad unexpected in 1998 and know the pain of losing such a special person. I remember foremost among the other huge lessons I learned, that you never feel as lonely as you do when you lose someone you love - as no one really knows the true meaning of what *your* special loss is. Mom lost a husband, my granparents a son, my sister a doting father, I the foundation of who I was and will become. All of our losses were unique and not the same for anyone else. No one else really knowing what I was missing made me feel pretty alone during that time. However, I can say that out of all of the great gifts he gave me throughout my life, some of the most important came in the things I learned and truths about life I discovered as a result of his passing.

George T. Kotsiopoulos, 74, Oct. 7 in Crescent City, IL, devoted father of Thomas and Chris; cherished brother of Pantelis and the late Kiki Costello; loving son of the late Ann and Thomas. A classic Renaissance man with many diverse interests and accomplishments, Mr. Kotsiopoulos was a skilled falconer, the past president of the National Falconry Association and the author of books on falconry, an art afficionado, a published poet and classical music lover. A lifelong entrepreneur, he was the former owner of the crepe restaurants in Chicago and Evanston, Pancake Francais. Mr. Kotsiopoulos is survived by the sons he adored, Thomas of Prospect Heights and Chris of Watseka; his beloved brother, Pantelis of Chicago; six nieces and a nephew.

I know that it is very hard. I don't know you,Mr.Kaye, but I believe I know what you may be going through. I lost my grandfather, who might as well been my father, back on June 5th. We were extemly close and I miss him every day. Anyway, all I can really say is you have my condolences and remember to hang in there.
