I love the race half blocks, but that drop HAS to go :)

I actually saw two new ones at a local field last weekend. One user had a revy on it, which wasnt able to keep up. Some mechanical glitch later turned that one into a complete blender. The other one had a halo on it, and it was flying. Very nice...

can somebody enlighten me...

why...

if they want the thing to be lighter, they aren't chopping the front down to mini-cocker size???

they are pretty though...

The actual reason for the half-block is not to reduce marker weight, but to reduce the weight that the ram has to move to cock/reload the marker.

The added weight loss is a side effect.

Headcase is right about why it is lightened. It isnt for overall weight. It is for less moving weight on the ram, with a lighter bolt and lighter backblock. So with less moving weight it can be sped up, without having to move as much weight. IE makes it much faster.

As for where to buy them, they can be bought from several places. Depends on which country you are in. Here is a link to the Racegun Dealers.

Hope that helps.

Should have my baby together next weekend. Going to order my drop monday. Made up my mind about which one I want on there.

Anyway, have anymore questions about them ask away, or check out their forums.

Am sure you can get any question answered there with no problems.

No he doesnt. He has a plain old halfblock, not sure who makes them, but they've been out for a while now. The turtle wasnt the first, even though everyone seems to think they were

First of all, Turtle halfblocks werent the first ones of their kind. Cant remember which one was the first off hand, but am sure I can browse around and find out. As for what sneakyhacker has I cant be sure. I havent seen it. Myself, I wouldnt have a Turtle cocker, they use a Delrin Backblock, not so sure I want a hardened plastic backblock. I mean if something has to screw into my marker, I would prefer it screw into somethng solid. Like Aluminum, or metal. Delrin is very durable, but I mean come on, it not only has to handle the pressure of the ram, it also has to cock the marker, so the is alot of pressure being applied to the backblock.

Either way. I love my Halfblock, and am 99.99% sure I wont be using anything else for a long time to come. Super fast, and light as hell. Who could want anything more. ;)
