Well, as the title states Im upgrading to larger tank this week and I need some advice. Particularly which tank to get. I currently have a PMI Pure Energy 68/3000. I was looking at a System-X 91/4500 with a 850 output pressure that was $199.99. If you have any suggestions, please let them flow.

Thanks,

I suggest getting a Crossfire 88ci/4500. They are as long as a 68ci tank, but wider. I have two Crossfire tanks and have never had any problems. System X doesn't exactly have the highest standards in quality.

make sure that your RTP guessing that you use a drop forward, has the clearance for the larger tank, mostlikely you want a large dropforward, mine is a deadon bullet, i think its like 7.5 fwd and 5.5 down something like that, thats gonna be quite a heavy gun :D

Actually I have the Deadonpaintball.com Long Bullet drop forward for my RTP, so I need not to worry about that.

I agree above, I have a Crossfire 88/4500 for my X-Mag and another good friend of mine has the new 91/4500 High Phat tank by Crossfire. Both tanks have excellent flow and fit into 88 ci dye tank covers. I highly recommend Crossfire, I have dealt directly with the president and he and his crew are very professional and helpful.

Shooting lots is an understatement Nate;)

Hmm, I see a trend starting here with Crossfire. Anything bad with a PMI 88/4500 or possibly even and 88/5000? Or even a flatline?

Ive never personaly owned any PMI tank, but there are several folks who play at my field, that have nothin but trouble with them, steel and fiber wrapped. The most common problem being leaky/faulty fill nipples and leaky pin valves.

Your best bet would be a Crossfire. If not, save up for a higher end adjustable. In anycase, if the need for # of shots is buggin, do get 45k.

I'm planning on going to a 45k. I may even consider a flatline if the price is right or I could get it in a package deal when I buy my X-mag in a month or so, whenever its sent out to the dealer after it gets back from anno and is assembled.

Or a peanut tank in general. Got a Crossfire peanut and the thing rocks, best of both worlds, since it's lighter and shorter than an 88 stub, but still has more capacity than a 68.

I have an 88 and a 92 stubby from Crossfire and they are the BOMB!!!!

This past weekend I shot around 700 rnds in about 3 minutes during the last 3 minutes of final battle.

There were times I was throwing almost a hopper at a time and spraying in different directions at 50 guys charging.

I never had a recharge issue that I have had with ND and a few other tanks.

If you do get a crossfire, and get it from their site,
www.crossfireinc.com, tell em the Marauders sent you.
Might get ya a price break.... :)

If I go with the crossfire, do I go with the high pressure output or the low pressure output?

Let em tell you, when I wanted somethign bigger than my 45/4500 I went along with what everyone is saying here and got a Crossfire. I am sorry to say, but it isn't the most consistent thing in the world. When I went to a lcal indoor field, I couldn't get my mag to vhrono under 270, thier field limit was 260! At first I thought it was my gun or soemthign, but when I switched back to my ACI no problems. The only thing I can think of is that it is the crossfire reg. The output is only 700 or so so there is very little reactivity as well. I am pretty disappointed. If I was looking for a preset now I would stick with Nitroduck or PMI. All the guys i saw at my local field were using the PMI and obviously the nitro duck will be muc better. My $.02.

72/45 Stubby Crossfire is what I personally use. I love it you can just play so tight and you dont have to give up shots, if I was to switch to a 45/45. But yea do go crossfire. It may be a couble bucks more but its the best.

why do you need a larger tank? do you run out of air during games usually?

AutomagRT1483

I getting a larger tank because Im tired of running out of air before I run out of paint.

Yep, get the High pressure.

They are preset to 800.
My gauge has never dropped below that even during rapid fire.
Never had a problem with a tank or reg.
From what I have read, their customer service is top notch and Chris (the pres) is a great guy.

If you want to read some reviews, check out pbreview.com.
There are something like 90 out there for Crossfire.

Good man. That's where I got mine. You'll love it.

And you can get either a 72 peanut Dye cover OR an 88. (88's are easier to find and will still fit.)

Thanks for the tip Dayspring. Besides this will bring tuna up to $800 bucks of my money. Other money was from the Sydarm I bought a while back.
