Hmm...ok...I see we have a young one here. It was a TV show in the 70's. When I saw the topic "heyhey" that song popped into my head.

Back in "the day" the Monkeys lasted just a few years in the mid 60's . And had their own TV show that was kind of a comedy cross between laugh in and the Lucy show. And of course some albums. Seems every teen girl in the mid 60's had to chose between the Monkeys or the Beatles. You COULD NOT be a fan of both in them days. For some reason I never understood. Who woulda thunk it? However the Monkeys pretty much died out fast didn't they? And not so the Beatles.

on a side note, I actually liked the Monkees, but not really for the music as so much the show. They were just like any modern day pop band. They could not play insruments and the "Band" was put together by a TV producer. Oddly, Peter Tork and Michael Nesmith were the only two with a music bone in their body. Most of the music played in early episodes of the Monkees were recored by studio performers. Just as the Beastie Boys did, they all ended up learning how to play and in the later albums it was actually them on the recordings. I saw the Monkees iin concert about 6 or 7 years ago, and to be honest, they were not that bad and are as funny in person as they were in the show.

Someone actually told me Davy Jones put out an album again in like 99 and did indeed writes some of the stuff. Its title was Justme..in reference to the "justus" album the Monkeys put out in 66. I think them dates are right but I think Davey has a web site and its there somewhere.

I cannot recall exactly but most of the stuff was turned out around 65 or 66 or something like that. Followed shortly thereafter by the show. Which for some reason got rerun and rerun again. Making pretty good money overall

Another Pleasant Valley Sunday to all of you. ;)
