help with autococker

I ended up picking up an autococker for a really good price and am having a little trouble with it, I think. When I pull the trigger, everything works but gas is vented out the front end of the 3(4)-way valve. Is this normal or not?

hmm goas hog...... i sure wish i could have gotten 1300 shots out of a 68/30 on a mag like i can with my cocker
