How would one go about creating such a setup? I was thinking there might be a way to wire an ordiary CB radio into the siren from my old alarm? Does anyone know what I would need to do this?

I don't know how to do it, but i remember hearing that depending on how you have it set up it can be illegal, so be careful with how you do it.

"But officer, that speaker is just the alarm, see?" :)

1. Roll down your window.

2. Hold a megaphone out the window

3. Yell.

Dude, you forgot the all-important step of inhaling as much helium as humanly possible before the yelling step. :)

Thats the ghetto way, I think I figured it out. You can basically plug a waterproof speaker into a CB, now I just need to find a CB with enough amplification for the speaker.

the ghetto way is the fabulous way! hehe

anyway, yea you should be able to just hook a CB into a waterproof speaker.... thats what my buddy did. the expressions you get when you are in a big old dodge truck and the guy in the convertible jag hears you say "hey nice car" are AMAZING

The speakers in patrol cars are built into the lightbars, unless they use the new low profile systems, in which case its behind the front grill. It's the same as the siren usually. Some newer cars have two seperate ones. Some CB's have a PA option. Just wire a weatherproof PA speaker to it.

Also good for coaxing someone to let you into traffic during the ruch hour...or trying to get out of school.

This setup is very easy young grasshopper,
First head to a pawn shop and look for,
CB with a PA switch, small about 50-100 watt car amp,PA speaker.
When shoping at a pawn shop NEVER pay asking price, always offer about half or a tad more.
Now the police sounds just grab a cheap kids bicycle siren from toys R us or somewhere.
Then hook it all up and your set for some weekend fun, umm I mean thats what I hear can happen I have NEVER done something like this...........:D

That looks promising, $41 to my door, nice and small, and it will blend right in with my interior.
I was thinking about trying to wire the speaker from my old alarm into this, anyone thing it might work?

why not just buy a light bar and instead of telling people to get out of your way theyll see the lights and figure it out for themselves.. thats what my brother and his buddies did

"THIS IS THE POLICE,!! MOVE YOUR BUSTED *** VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WE'LL POP ONE IN YA ***, WE GOT GUNS N ****"

sorry for the cussing- couldnt resist that quote

ps: PA systems are illegal in this state I dunno about the rest.

As long as I don't abuse the thing, I don't think ill get in trouble for it. I just want it for yelling at my friends and such, not trying to pull people over or pretend to be a cop. And they have no way of knowing about it unless they hear it.
