I have finally convinced a girl I know to play but she is wondering about upper body protection. I seem to recall seeing a plastic bra years ago well any help would be good we need more women playing!!

Ya know.... In a year and a half of playing, I've never been shot in the chest area! Legs, arms, head, back, etc... but never tender areas up front. Now that I think about it, I guess I would attribute that to one of two things: I'm either holding my gun up in front of me and the marker catches the hits, or I'm laying/crawling on the ground on my belly. Either way, no chest shots!

I am not complaining. Glad you have not taken those kinds of hit.

My wife wears a sports bra, over-sized t-shirt, and an over-sized jersey. It all works to protect her and she gets A LOT of bounces too!

My GF started off by wearing a bra a T shirt and a hooded sweat shirt which we cut the sleeves off, under her jersey. Now all she wears is an Underarmour Sports Bra a wife beater and her jersey.

All that protection got too hot for her and honestly she just realized if she gets hit f*** it she got hit....

Yep, just like Maglover52 said! I started off wearing a tshirt and a sweatshirt over it. Now, I just wear a tshirt underneath my jersey. Not just cause those are tourney rules but anything else just gets too hot.

edit: oops, forgot to mention that Dye does make a sports bra, but it really isn't all that padded.

Don't they make foam vests, they look like they would be fairly light, not to hot and provide some protection, as well as cause more bounces.

My GF uses a flurry vest. it has great protection and has adjustable pod locations. not to heavy either.

before she got it she wore a sports bra, t-shirt, and bdu jacket. she took one hit in the chest from about 10 feet and it ruined the day for both of us :(

Actually I did have something to contribute to the thread. :D

We had a lady that played on our team years ago and she had "cups" that she just wore inside her bra.

I don't remember where she got them, but it might have been I & I sports, we ordered a lot from them back then...

Redz makes a really nice chest protector. I'm a girl, i have been playing for a while and i've only gotten shot once in the chest....its not that bad. It's just part of the sport.

I wear a regular sports bra and a jersey. For me to get shot in the chest is pretty rare...it's only happened once in almost four years of playing...and it wasn't even that bad. I think body armor would be sooo hot and miserable that it wouldn't be worth it :D

I know a few women that wear those bras that have either gel or water in them. I also know a few that play in a normal sportsbra and they seem to be fine...granted I'm respectful enough to not go checking for welts after games. :p

my wife wears a water bra, t-shirt, and jersey till she gets hot then loses the jersey on the speedball, and a blackhawk tac vest for woods, she uses the clip pouches for pod holders. so the pods are in front of her.
