Maybe the "lp" hype is messing with my brain :p but I can't seem to find an air efficient marker anymore!

Anything very efficient under 800$ would be fine by me, any suggestions?

Viking fits the bill, if you want to go real cheap find a used one, pre-WAS and eyes. Preforms great, should be able to find one for 500 or so.

If you want a black half milled viking for $650 lmk, eh?

Otherwise I'd recomend a LED Trix with an Evolve Bolt

Vikings/Excals will get a good 2000 shots off a 68/45. Cockers are also capable of getting that kind of efficency, as are trixes with bolt kits and such.

Trix with Evolve bolt kit 2300shots 68/45

For your price range a LED trix would really offer the best performance and air consumption.

It's amazing that a gun that begins it's evolution as one of the biggest gas hogs since the original shocker can become one of the most efficient. 2300 on a 68/45 is ungodly. I would give my ability to spit just to get that efficiency from my mag

Regardless, Matrix with evolve kit, some kind of cocker, or anything from AKA

Does anyone have any REAL numbers on how many shots an 03' shocker would get out of a 68/4500?

600-700

Being on my second Viking I can say 2000 off a 68/45 is a bit much - but 1400-1500 is about right. Then again that is shooting at 290fps, not an indoor speed like ~250 where milage may go up...

Still, the Viking is the most gas miserally marker I've owned out of a number mags (emag included), cockers (both LP and normal), a Shocker (go figure), and a Timmy.

A properly tuned and setup Cocker can 2200 shots from a 68/45. AKA guns are definately efficient.

Thanks guys :)

I have to decline the offers on your guns though, getting those across the border is like 30% I don't wanna risk it :(

is it risky sending it over the border due to it resembling a weapon? :(

I don't believe this for one minute - Ethan from the "Free Flow" company (I think Pro Paintball) started this myth. No one I know has EVER been able to reproduce it, including (from what I hear) him - even after multiple challanges. Even if it was done that doesn't mean that the gun wasn't set to shoot 190fps. It is amusing how one person in paintball can say something with no proof and it then becomes general fact with no futher validation.

Not trying to bust your chops, but 2200 off of a 68/45 is a joke - and I remember when this originally came out - couldn't be validated then - can't be now. Find me someone who can SHOW someone 2200 shots at 290fps and I'll eat crow.

-Calvin In my 13 years of paintball, I have never seen a cocker do this. Only marker I've ever seen get that efficiency is the Excal and Viking.

After owning 2 Vikings, I can say that 2200 is a bit of stretch for even them.

Yeah, right! This is one of the funniest bogus claims I've ever heard - and paintball is full of them...

Sorry dude, there's no way. That is unless the balls are rolling out the end of the barrel...

About that 2200 on a 68/45 thing:
somebody did the math on the energy required to accelerate a paintball to 980 fps or so and compared that to the energy in a tank... even if the gun was 100% effecient ie, no gas to move the bolt to cock the gun and ALL the gas went down the barrel the gun would have still had to have been over 120% effecient. Not gonna happen while newton still matters.

980 FPS?! Was that a typo or an actual figure used in that test?

Well, unfortunately for some people Newton doesn't matter when it comes to range either. Maybe Einstein could tell us how the Matrix shoots 2300 off a 68/45 as well as how a closed bolt shoots farther than an open bolt even with the same velocity.
