What's the best NES game?

Hey guys, i saw that some threads were being made for shows and things when we were younger so i decided to bring up the Nintendo Entertainment System.

IMO it is still the best system for game playing. I myself own 2 of the systems and still play them often. I was curious as to how many of you own a system and what your favorite game(s) were. :)

I still play NES regularly. Big fan of SMB and Zelda. Hell, i'm sad enough i still have my Coleco Vision with Atari hookup and SNES.

Just thought i'd share the fact that i just got done playing the combo game of two of the greatest....Its SMB Zelda. The gameplay and style of SMB with the character of Link and potions and changes in monsters...pretty cool.

I'm with edweird on this one....Metroid and Final Fantasy. But also Zelda and Dragon Warrior. If you can't tell I like rpg's alot.

agh, i used to borrow a game from my neigbor and it was like a shooting game and at some point early in the game, dog's would go after you and stuff. there was also a part with a helicopter trying to shoot you. man i'd like to get my hand's on that game so if any of you kno what its called please fill me in. i might recognize the title if u kno it.

Ooooh...so many hours spent playing games on that thing!! Hard to really pick...but I love a good RPG. The two games I played over a few times were Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy...classics! I used to love the platform games but I'm not into those kind of games anymore.

I can remember using the rock spray paint on the case...LOL! I was bored and wanted to give my NES a new look. Wasn't ghetto either. I took it apart, did the paint job, and put it back together...looked rock solid(pun intended). :D

if you crouch on the white block long enough you fall behind it. old trick but cool. i like SMB and some baseball game i totally kicked arse at. you could only do one picth, swing and run the bases and go run towards the ball. graphics were horrible but that made the game great.

Oh man...

1. Tecmo Super Bowl, this and Wayne Gretzky's 3d Hockey (for the 64) are the only sports games I can play without the urge to gauge someones eyes out. That and Bo Jackson simply rules ;)

2. Contra. My friend and I actually got to the last level without the 30 man code... Good times.

3. Punch Out. My brother made it to Super macho Man but could never beat him... For some reason whenever I played it I couldn't pass that Indian dude who spun around all the time... I blame that on the fact that I was like 8 and didn't know any better.

4. RC Pro Am was super fun as well

5. Never played Zelda on the NES for more then 10 minutes, but its going up on here out of principal.

6. Super Mario 3 was probably the game that got the most play time. Sooo fun. I'm tempted to buy a Game Boy Advance now just so I can play this game during class.

Soo many more, I don't know where to go.

By the way the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles just plain sucked. The game was redicusly hard (even for the original NES, where 90% of the games are un-passable). TMNT: The Arcade Game kicked major booty though...

Zelda, the original Final Fantasy, Double Dragon, Ninja Gaiden and RC Pro Am...I still play them...but I think my NES is going soon:( It always blinks a grey screen when I start it...ever since those stupid cousins knocked it off the tv stand

mine does that too. u gotta move the game around and hit the reset button while looking at the screen to see if it works. if not then keep moving it in different places and resetting until it does.:)

I loved Zelda.

There was also a game, I think it was called "Robowarrior" that I had alot of fun with. You were this little robot guy and planted bombs to blow a path for yourself, and fought weird thigs and collected items.. hmmm, I need to look for it.

it was skateboarding and surfing.

surfing was a little difficult but the skating was all there.
