I got this from a friend. they are canadian army issue.. i saw them in a apg quite a long time ago but i figured it was prob sumthing u americans use.. but i recently found out Canada does. i guess alll they do is change the barrel on what u guys would call an M4 and they use a different clip perhaps a few other parts. i dunno?? but the fact they shoot out of real guns is a bit scary but i still love it. ANy input lets here it!!

I AM CANADIAN!!!

My unlce used them down in Quantico for his FBI training a few years back. He took me to a small mock down they built and there were casings and bullets everywhere. He said it hurts like hell when you get shot. i believe it!

I know some LE folks and I think they call this "simunations" (sp) There used here in the US on all kinds of guns. You switch out barrels so you cant load real bullets and blow someones head off.

It seems like it would really hurt to get hit by them, NO MERCY BALL jk.

yep, i'm pretty sure those are simunitions

a friend of my family works with the local SWAT, narcotics, and other branches of the local PD and he practices with simunitions all the time

he too told me they hurt like hell!

They do hurt. I look one in the abdomen, and still have the scar.

Word. Now for some reason I'm tempted to play with those just to see how much they hurt...

saw them on history channel, the people that were shooting them were just wearing gas masks... the people being shot were just wearing JT spectra masks, wrapped in towels to look like terrorists...

They have masks specifically built for simunitions:

Using anything else is not a good idea.

simunitions = 450fps

That is well into tissue damage country. My old room-mate had scars from USMC CQB school where he got lit up with them.

I've heard from soem that they are dangerous enough to have brought some agencies full circle - back to paintball for training.

I've been hit by those too, they hurt pretty good. On top of clothing isn't too bad, but bare skin...watch out.

The problem with simunitions is that, every once in a while, there is a screwup with simunition barrels/ammo and normal barrels/ammo. As a result, people training with it sometimes get killed. But as a training tool its far better than paintball, as you are using your duty weapons.

Those look like Vforce masks. I think I saw something similar in Jet Li's The One(the guards at the universe where the cops are from).

They make look like Vforce masks, but they SUCK! Mine fog up after about 15 seconds, and never un-fog. I have to tilt my head to look out the corner of the lens. They are also bulky and heavy. I suspect the ballistic requirements of simunition masks are someone higher than for paintball masks.

Yeah, that would probably make short work of a normal paintball lense. Couldn't those cause damage if you get hit it the neck?

You wear a neck-protector. At least, you are supposed to. You are also supposed to wear a ballistic vest and a cup.
