I have Klipsch's... like them a lot. Although I haven't checked around to see if anything is better yet. At the time I got them they were best stuff.

That would be the last of the three links I have.
How much did you pay for your reciever and speakers, mine came from peoples garbage :)

10in subs in my speakers, 8in in another set :)

If you are going against computer speakers which are to be honest regardless of the cost flimsy cereal boxes with a speaker in them, then feed the sound into a good (old) hifi amp and fire normal speakers from that, if you want the surround effect then you will need a proper surround amp, they aren't that common in the older configuration so newish will have to be the route there but the speakers to look at, you will be better served looking for used ones, are JBL Control 1's, nearfield monitor speakers.
You can find JBL copys for a lot less money and as long as you site them away from the monitor (screen) then you won't have any problems. I had JBL copys being run direct from the soundcard (not very possible with todays soundcards) and they sounded great. The soundcard I had and it is still in a cupboard somewhere was an AWE32, most all of the AWE range had a pretty strong output from the card but the Live! range stopped doing it so you have to go back to line level outputs and into seperate amps.

Those Klipsch speakers you linked are the best ones out there in my opinion. FANTASTIC speakers. And the sub will shake the earth.

I bought these JBL "Creature" speakers for the G5. Even though the G5 has the 5.1 output I didn't think I could justify buying a 5.1 set up for a work computer ;). But these Creatures VERY MUCH impress me for the price. Nice big Sub and very tiny powerfull speakers with volume control right on one of them if you need it. They were about 130 bucks if I recall. And they come in colors and the Silver ones match the G5 case real well...

i have those speakers that pyro first posted (the ones he wants to overpower). now here's my question. i never EVER have to turn the volume up past 1/4 of the way for it to become SUPER loud....why do you need to upgrade from THAT? the bass is pretty damn loud as well...i get complaints from the people all around my dorm haha...but really, why upgrade? or is this an excuse to spend money ;)

PyRo

Because I dont have them, the people next door do, and they have them ALL the way up. Hence I want to be able to overpower them :)
You can hear there's from any point in the dorm, but no RA or RD will do anything about it. So my answer is to completley school them :)
