I am looking to purchase a digital camera for around 250 or so. I know it is not a lot, but it is all I have.

I would like one with at least 2.0 mega pixels if not more, stores pictures in a memory card, can take short movies, is sort of compactable (ie. Can throw it in my pocket), and is durable.

If anyone has any experience with some good ones could you please post your favorites or any good ones that fall into this area.

Thanks
CB

The best P&S digi cam out there right now is the Canon. Take a look at like the Digital Elph S300 or S330, it should be some place within your price range these days.

I have researched on-line numerous types of cameras. The reason I asked here, is I am hoping to get first hand experience of these cameras. On these online review boards, it is hard to tell if it is a true review or someone who is trying to make money off of them. Hence why I turned here.

Thanks for the info so far, please keep them coming.

Hmmmm....All I know is that camera that someone took all of the pictures of their ferret in the bath with was awesome. Yeah, personal oppinions are way better than a salesmen's oppinion.

That was Mango's Sony 707 I think it was. The problem is that is not a cheap camera by any means. You are looking at like $800 for it.

I have an HP photosmart 720. I paid $200 for it, 3.3 megapixles 16mbinternal memory, 12x zoom (3x optical 4x digital I think). No complaints about it so far.

That was my Sony DSC F717. Muzik I'm shocked you messed up a Digicam Model number! :D

Oh and check out E-bay! SOO many great cameras on there for cheap.

***Edit: For $249.99 I dont think it gets any better than this Sony Digicam! (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1051826109156&skuId=5364394&type=product&productCategoryId=cat04002)
