How much does the solenoid have to move to activate the sear and how much force does it need to exert?

Made the leap that it would be taken for granted that any question here would be about Automags.

Oh, well.

To 'clarify' my question, I was asking about the Emag.:cool:

The solenoid has about 1/4" throw. Force should be around the same as for a manual retrovalve ~ 36 oz.

But, judging by the leverage of the sear assembly, I'd hope that the force required from the solenoid was much less than that.

The solenoid pull on an emag is twice the distance of the trigger pull. Therefore the force required is half the value over the longer distance. If the trigger pull is 4lbs, then the solenoid pull is 2lbs.

Just from looking at the pictures of the Emag sear assembly I had guessed it was a factor of 2.

But 2lb :eek:. No wonder the battery needs to be so big :p.
