Look at the Magellan line of GPS's. They are quality and have some that run in that price range.

Garmin too. I have had several models of garmins, and never had any problems. I dont recall the one I have now...it is like a 72 or something. Works great. Go to www.geocaching.com and check out all the stuff there. They also occasionally have some used ones.

Geocatching is fun. I went with a friend of mine and he has 3 gps's, so I went for different things in the same area and found 10 bucks, a cell phone cover, and a couple plastic army men. What I left is a surprise...:)

What is a GPS device?

A GPS unit is a electronic device that can determine your approximate location (within around 6-20 feet) on the planet. Coordinates are normally given in Longitude and Latitude. You can use the unit to navigate from your current location to another location. Some units have their own maps, built-in electronic compasses, voice navigation, depending on the complexity of the device.
