Why are old people so crotchety?!

Today at work this elderly woman was harrassing me and trying to manipulate me to get her way, and kept on being redundant about it which got very annoying. Eventually she left and I thought to myself, was the crotchey-ness really necessary? NO. Its like pah-lease you are making yourself look much worse for doing it.

When you're at that age, and irregular... you tend to get grouchy, I would imagine. Just hand them Metamucil, and tell them to talk to you later after they've been on it for a week.

i see too many stupid, ignorant, and demmanding customers at the grocery store where i work... much less, i have to work in the grocery department and help them :rolleyes:

i've learned to live with it over time... but it still gets on my nerves :o

lol....I'm a dweeb. Anyway, one thing to think about old people, is they have been alive a long time.(no, really?) That's a long time to build up old habits and desensitize yourself from being nice to people.

On the other hand, I would take a crotchey old person over a snide-cocky-lack-of-respect-stuck-up-snobby teenager anyday. At least old people have battle scars of life, kids just don't have a clue.

I happen to know a few really cool old guys. Guys that do things like make their lawns look like golf courses, or drive the speed limit. I wanna be a cool old guy someday.

There is one lady who came in to the gas station I worked at who would sit there and honk the whole time. Apperantly you were expected to stand by the nozzel the whole time and ignore the other customers. If there was any line she would sit there honking like she was god, or if other people were there before her I had to take care of, any kind of waiting she would flip.
Another one every time she came in would demand the owner come out and check her oil. I guess it takes a mechanic to check someone oil :confused:

eh I think they're angry about being old and seeing someone young. They're like all people, some worthless and some good. I just get annoyed when they act like, simply due to the fact that they have avoided death up to this point, they deserve more respect then any other human. But hey, whatever.
