Well, I have like 7 stock cocker rams and even more 3-ways, all fugly nasty brass. So I decided to fix it. I took some brasso, a few polishing rags, and a buffer wheel, and about 1 hour, and polished the snot out of a 3-way and a ram. The end result...AMAZING! IMO, it looks better than a chrome ram, and I love it! Its VERY shiny, just like gold you know? Its so cool! I will snap some pics when I get a chance.

At one point, many "quality" paintball guns were made from brass.

Polished brass looks good...but only for a few months and then it loses it's shine and after about a year, it gets ugly again. I have a SB Piranha that was all polished up about 2 years ago. It looks kinda nasty right now:) This is why I love Nickle so much, it doesn't do this...

yup...mine is like the one in docs pic, only mine are shinnier. Im gonna have to add some clear coat for maximum blingin. Anyone know where I can get other brass cocker parts BESIDES a 3-way and ram...preferably the LPR.

Cphil you boob:p :D

I have a pgp that I am going to polish and engrave.

The issue with brass is you have to polish it then clear coat it so it stays in the shiny manner.

If not the oil from the paint and your hands will tarnish it.

Boob? Erm.... she said boob! :D

I got a brass automag barrel I hanging on to. Tunaman gave it to me. I might polish it up and do something with it. Kill moles with it or something. I dunno....

Phil, I think "better" is a subjective term. :D

I've got one if you want. It needs to be sent to Palmers for a rebuild, but that's still covered by the Lifetime warranty (Glen ain't dead yet).

PM me if you want it.

You might contact Palmer's. You'd be set if they had any older brass quickswitches or brass ended quickrams laying around. Barring that, you'd be probably best off to find an old brass STO 3way, and a clippard ram. Oh, I have a brass ball detent too, with a delrin ball... I had the same intentions as you at one time.

Ya, I just polished some stock cocker parts and they look great...now I need an LPR, but I think your asking a bit much for yours.

I hardly think $35 is too much for a brass Rock. If you've looked around at them, that's about the going price. That is, if you ever find one for sale.

Thanks,
if you can get your hands on a brass mag barrel you can send it to Bigmatt at MadCustoms and get the same thing or something similar done...pretty much whatever you have in mind. He specializes in sheridans but he can do plenty of other stuff, also sheridans are made out of brass so he is used to working with it.here is the link.

Not to sound dumb, but once you polish it is there ANY way to keep it from tarnishing again - other then repolishing? It is easy to polish the parts individually - but once on the marker I don't want the basso getting everywhere.

Thanks,

-Calvin
