OK, I am in the process of breaking down my E-mag frame for anno. I have it all apart except for one piece, on the front of the frame, where the battery connects there is what looks like a pin with a semi-dome on one end. How is this removed? Is it just a friction fit? If so what size punch do I need to remove it?

Thanks

If your talking about the barrel detent (it has a spring loaded rounded tip), it is a press fit. I had to remove it to get my ULE body to fit. If I remember correctly (which is always suspect). Just use a punch that fits the bottom, even an old socket will do. Drive it out from the bottom to the top. HTH.

Thanks for trying. The piece I am talking about is on the other side of the hole circled in the pic. I was told by Tuna that it is pressed in, and trying to remove it with out using said press would be difficult to say the least.

It just pulls out. It shouldn't be threaded in. When I did mine I carefully wedged a sharp knife under it and was able to work it out.

if you can get a punch in there it should tap out no problem. use a nail if you cant get one in there small enough.

That is your negative post for the battery. As far as I can tell, it has a rounded head. Try to find a cup head punch to drive it out - a regular punch may deform the head. Haven't done it myself, but that would be my guess.

Why yes it is. That is also the insperation for my E-mag project. There are a couple of good threads either in Tech, or the workshop with the info.
