Dear Thomas:

On behalf of the Admissions Committee and the faculty of Washington University, I am delighted to offer you admission to the College of Arts & Sciences Class of 2008. Our decision reflects our respect for your academic and personal achievements and our confidence that you have much to contribute to our University.

To accept this offer of admission and ensure a place in the freshman class, please take some time to review the information in this packet, complete the enclosed enrollment form, and return it and your $200 enrollment deposit to our office postmarked no later than the date indicated on the form. Enclosed is information on financing from the Office of Student Financial Services. If you applied for financial assistance, you will receive notification in two or three days. In March, you will receive updated tuition information as well as information describing various options for the payment of tuition and room and board costs. Please be sure to share it with your family.

In addition to the enrollment deposit, you are asked to send a $250 housing advance payment if you wish to live on campus. In March, you will receive housing information and an application that will allow you to tell us about your housing preferences.

Our experience has shown that students who remain academically engaged through the conclusion of their senior year adjust more readily when they enroll at Washington University. Your admission to the University is, therefore, contingent upon the successful completion of your senior year. We would like to see your academic performance continue at the same level of excellence you have exhibited up to this point. Please be sure to send us your mid-year and final transcripts when they are available.

Finally, welcome to the Washington University community. As an early decision student, you are a very important part of the new class because of your enthusiasm about and commitment to the University. You will find that the faculty and students work together extraordinarily well, and that the community of individuals at this institution is a very special group of people.

Have a great and successful conclusion to your senior year! We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,

Nanette H. Tarbouni
Director of Admissions
