I have a very simple question, but one that requires a professional outsider's opinion. My field strip screw sheared off inside my X-valve the other day on the field. The screw itself was old and should have been replaced long ago, however hindsight does nothing for me now. My question is: Should I simply send my valve into AGD to have them remove the stub left in my valve, or should I trust an independent airsmith to drill out the stub for me? I wish I could just take some pliers and twist out the stub myself, but it is sheared of level with the screw opening and needs to be drilled. Anyone?

Send it to AGD.

Yeh, send it to AGD, I'm sure they have had this problem before, so they know what to do.

A drill and a screw extractor should do the job no problem.

Just an idea *not that you should do this* but if you have a dremel or something make a slit in the tip of the screw thats stuck in there. Enough of a slit that you can fit a flat head screw driver in it. Then unscrew it.

You would probably risk damage to the valve doing it though. I duno.
