Saul,

Though I am sure AGD would be interested from a marketing perspective, this is not something about which most of us like to think. We all know that it is not a cheap sport (but much cheaper than golf...into which most of my colleagues dump thousand and thousands of dollars every year) and we don't want to be reminded of that fact on this board.

In all seriousness, I remember when a case of paint could not be had for less than $100 and the quality of the equipment would be laughable to current players. The sport has come a long way and become more affordable as it progressed. Good combination, if one where to ask me.

I bought a new gun this year so $500-1000 most of the time i only spend about $200 on paintball a year.

it i just a harmless qustion. i think that it would be nice to know what the average paintballer spends. i might be able to base my paintball budget off of that.

I plead the 5th in case my wife ever stumbles across this place...

Actually, this year hasn't been as bad as others, but it's still alot.

Let's see, three guns so far this year, about $40 in paint every weekend, about 5 bucks in gas every time I play, about a thousand in air tanks, another thousand in upgrades. Ummm, I lost count, hmm I've never noticed how much I spend, paintball is definatly a single mans sport.

In the last year I have spend over $2000 on just guns and equipment. This does not count paint and field fees.

I've been only playing about a year and have had three guns so that all put me over 2000 but then theres paintballs and gear...

I'm with muzik... but it's more like total transaction amount... I make some of it back. But if you count event and traveling fees (i don't spend more than a few hundred on paint a year, and my collection of obscure paint brands is increasing in my basement)... maybe 20% of my life income has been spent on paintball equipment.

Hi,

Don't remind me :) Everything I have done this year has bee big events for the most part. I have not been playing once a weekend. i use to when I could but not anymore. For instance, the last time I played was Michigan Monster Game.

Room $450 (last room in the hotel but it was a business suite. Had a Jacuzzi, King Size bed, Nuke and Frige, Big bath and so forth)

Fuel for the Bronco-$150

Food for two-$150

Paint (BYOP. Bought from my local guy at $60/case and good stuff too:)) $120 plus some extra stuff I had from the last time I played.

Vendor's Tent (known as the vacation death nail)-$420

reg and air pass- $90

Other items-$100

1480 all together

however room, food, gas, regstration, and other items were split with my girlfriend.

The end result I spent about 770 for that entire trip. Was it worth it? Yes! Would I do it again? Probably not since it was too gosh darn hot. It was 95 both days and with 40% humidity made playing sluggish. My girlfriend only played the morning sessions. I cautiously played the afternoon sessions with rest every hour I played. We packed 6 gallons of water and used 5 of them for the drive there and back plus the game itself. I also got to see the largest Cabela's in Dundee, MI.

Now that was a logn trip. A short trip.

EMR big game.

Reg-$80
Air-$36
Paint-$160

all cost are split with the girlfriend again.$138 for the weekend. We try to do the full weekend to so that $138 get split again to $69 a day which is really cheap. However if we do the day, we play a player's weekend. 10 a person then another ten for air. Plus we buy a case and a case and quarter. So we spend about about $140 for the day for the both of us less food and gas.

If we play real local like at a friend oncei na great while outlaw field, it's $5 for the food and what ever I pay for hte paint. It's usually 40 bucks for paint and air fills.

So it all depends on how you want to look at it with me. I could spend from $40-$900 for paintball a trip. Some of it is funded on sale of paintball related items. Some of it is out of the pocket.

Later,
Alan
