Does anyone have any tips for removing the factory paint off of the Barrels? i'm looking to repaint the barrel a matte black.

Thanks

That's not paint. The barrel is actually annodized. That means the color is actually PART of the barrel.

If you want it re-annodized, you have to strip it and have it re-done.

I can tell you.
Go and buy some Drano , or its equivalent.
Pour some in the sink and fill with warm water.Put the barrel in there and leave it for a while. The Anno will come off.
Do not touch with your bare hands.Use rubber gloves to remove it and for handling it until you reseal it.
You will need to do some light sanding with some fine sandpaper or steel wool to "re-smooth" the surface as the Lye will leave the aluminum dull looking and unsealed.
After sanding , seal the barrel with a good polish/wax or clear coat.
This method will leave the inside of the barrel as rough as the outside.I suggest using an old battle swab and mothers polish on a drill to work the inside of the barrel.
