I played with my buddy who got a Ti Boomstick and sometimes, it spit fire. Looks really cool, but how come? Is it sand inside the barrel that makes the sparks?

there was a big talk about this over on pbn a while ago, i think the result was static generated by the balls against the titatanium. its part of the fun of shooting a ti boomer.

sand wouldnt cause sparks like that. think of it this way, sand is baisically small pieces of broken glass

ya its the dust that gets on the titanium and then you fire a ball, pretty cool looking at night time.

You should see the sparks fly from your titanium driver just after dusk at the driving range!!!

Spit fire.... I knew I would regret saving $50 and buying a stainless Boomstick. (has flashback) "$50 more for titanium... I wouldn't pay $50 more unless it shot fire or sumthing"

I was reffing the Knoxville Indoor once and a guy was shooting one of the Ti boomies and some kid on the other team was yelling to chrono that guy with sparks coming out the barrel cause he has to be shooting hot.
I laughed till I cried.

As I recall guys the reason the Ti Bommie spark are reactions to the N2 your shooting. Even with Compressed Air it will still spark as N2 is 79% of the air we breeth.

My Ti Longbow sparks like that. I suspect that it has to do with some dirt in the barrel. Ti is used as sparker plates in other things. I don't see how it could possibly be static electricity.

It is pretty cool to see firsthand. It doesn't throw massive sparks, just a little 4 or 5 sparkers. Just enough to say "What the heck was that?"

at my field, a guy with his matrix has a titanium longbow set and its one of the funniest things you'll ever see when you see him go and bunker someone with the guy too scared to shoot 'cause sparks are showering out of the barrel :p

its just plain funny
