I just bought a 320 CI nitrogen tank today. I was wondering if you guys would know what kind of fill station I would need. The adapter on the tank looks different from the bulk CO2 tank I have. Links would be nice.

Here are some pics of the adapter on the tank.
Thanks a lot

You will have to get one for compressed air. They are pricy though. I payed $400 for mine:(

On the topic of bulk air tanks, what size is the best? I'm thinking about getting one and I want lots of fills outta it, but I can't afford an expensive one. Where can you buy these at? I looked at scuba websites but all the tanks looked relatively small.

I think what he needs is a DIN adaptor like this one for 100$ Here (http://www.scubacompressor.com/merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SC&Product_Code=PB-300-H&Category_Code=din) But I'm not 100% sure will that work? I did a little research and there appears to be two different forms of DIN adaptors 200 DIN and 300 Din (300 being larger diameter). The site doesnt say which that one is and I don't know what size the tank is.

Could someone help clarify? And one more thing there is a 20$ Here (http://www.scubacompressor.com/merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SC&Product_Code=S-500-D&Category_Code=din) adaptor that looks like it would let you use a regular suba fill station after installed bringing the price to more like 70$ (20$ for adaptor plus about 50$ for scuba fill system).

At my shop we have the same tanks, we got some brass fitting that screws into that valve and comes out to a yoke block, then a normal scuba fill station goes on the end of that. The fitting was like $30 and the scuba fill station was about $45

Wish I had names for ya... the owner brought them in and said "here ya go!", lol

Ah... posted right after Jet, lol

Yeah, http://www.scubacompressor.com/merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SC&Product_Code=S-500-D&Category_Code=din is what I was talking about. I like that first one, looks like a cleaner setup. :)

Alright. I think that 2nd option is what you are talking about then. It's 20$ for the adaptor and then that can be used to connect a Yoke or regular scuba fill station.

Would just like to confirm this though thanks.

One more question for ya Rope A Dope. Well if you haven't guessed my now me and Epyon are teamates .

Anyways what PSI do your tanks fill to. I'm asking cause that adaptor theres is only safe up to 3000 PSI and I'm not yet sure if ours goes up to 4500 or if its just 3000 psi. Our tanks sound like they are fairly similar. Just not sure that the adaptor will be enough.

Yep a comon scuba yoke fill station goes right on that brass adaptor and works just like a scuba.

We have two tanks that are 3000psi, one is 3200psi but we use that adaptor on all tanks since the 3200psi tanks cools down to 3100psi or so and the rest are around 2900psi, we usually go volume fills on the big bulk tanks and top off at 3000psi on a few large scubas. It works pretty well.. until we have to get those huge tanks filled. Ugh.. what a pain, lol

We don't do enough HPA fills to justify a compressor.

Ok sounds good. Thanks again for the help.

i thought you need a pump for hpa? because you need to get the nitro in the tank up to 4500 or 3000 psi:confused:

Here is a hand pump for HPA.

Hand Pump (http://www.bow-gun-hunting-sports.com/bsa.htm)

Never seen one used but with a little elbow grease you'd never be out of air.

Haha. Man and I thought filling up a car tire with a bicycle pump was hard. That was only like 60psi. I can't imagine 3000PSI.

Your larger Hpa tanks can be rented from a gases supply store. You will find them in the yellow pages dealing with welding supplies. To get 4500psi fills you need to either rent your tanks or own your own compressor. They run about $5000. This is the type of fill station you might consider. Do a search, there are better brands out there. http://shop.store.yahoo.com/one-stop-paintball-shop/hpanifistcga3.html

Yeah I figured the 4500 PSI tanks are alot more expensive. Its either that or get a booster/compresser and thats usualy 2,000-5,000$ and thats money we don't have.

We made out pretty good with our 320 CI tank for 175$ 20$ fills and then about 80$ for all of the fill station stuff we need.

Appricate the info though.

Actually, That valve is a CGA fitting, probablya 580 or 680. It's not a SCUBA DIN fitting. If you look at the valve, on the side of the body it should say CGA###. (right on that red spot) You'll need to get the adapters to go from the CGA to something usable.

What is the working pressure of the cylinder? 3500, 3600, 4500, 6000?

If it's 3500 and you're careful you could build a CGA580 to Paintball Quick connect. If it's higher you should have a regulator so you don't accidently put 4500psi into a 3000psi cylinder.

Check out the valve and then let me know what the working pressure on the cylinder is and I can make you some recommendations.

CGA 580. Operating pressue is 3000psi I think for the tank.

Suggestions then since its not a DIN?

I tried PM'ing you but your inbox is full.....

Best route would be the HPA fillstation mentioned in the thread.

But you could go CGA580 Male to 1/4" Male NPT to a Female 1/4" NPT to Scuba yoke block and put a Scuba Fill station on it. That would probably only cost you about $30 to build. I'd probably add a 5' hose in there just for convience so add another $20.00 or so.

I was looking for a picture of the Scuba block online but don't see one. It's similar to the $21.00 you had in your post except instead of DIN threads it has Female 1/4" NPT .

I can build it for you if you're interested. I'd have to get actual prices tomorrow But I've built a couple special adapters for people before.

So, is that some sort of quick connect connecting to the paintball qiuck connect?

Once it's pressurized, how do you bleed it off? Theres no bleeder on it.

I recently bought two 4500 xpr bulk nitrogen tanks.

I am looking to make two fill stations, but I can't afford two 400 dollar regulators. I have scowered the internet but can't seem to come up with the parts I need. Any help would be appreciated. I will be filling 3000psi and 4500psi paintball air tanks.

300 bucks is still WAY too much.

I'm looking to get setup for less than 150 bucks for both of my bulk tanks. I don't need a reg.
