Can I switch these tanks, so that I have a 45/45 flatline, and a crossfire 45/72?

I've got one, but I never even considered doing it myself...is it really as simple as just degassing, unscrewing, and resrcewing them on again? Is there locktite involved? Are the threads the same? Do I have to have them re-certified if I do this myself?

I think some have loctite on there, and some have just an oring and wishful thinking :p
I would take it to an airsmith to get it done.
Its possible though, and the threads should be the same.

I just switched the regs from my conquest to a crossfire tank. The Cross will have some blue locktite crap on it.. I assume the flatline will have some stuff on it as well.

Quick and dirty steps.
1. Make dam sure all the gass is out of the tanks. Open the valve on the flat and screw in an ASA on the cross.
2. take all of the crap off the regs, guages, fill nips, er'thing...
3. set the reg/tank area under a stream of hot water, like from your kitchen sink.
4. the cross you can use one strap wrench and a large cresent wrench. The flat use a strap for the reg and strap for the tank.
5. Proceed to unscrew, Trust me when i say they will be dam tight!

BTW all tank regs are all the same thread.
