well id like to make two basic point. if ur gunna comit a crime. will it really matter if u have an illegal gun? and two, say guns are outlawed, if ur a criminal and uv got a illegal gun. what stops you from attacking me, a law abiding citizen with no defense against a gun. no what if guns are legal. ur gunna think twice cause u may pull your davis .380 and im gunna pull my Smith and wesson .45

im not against restricitions on guns. but to imagine making them ilegal is gunna stop them is rediculous. pot is illegal. yet theres probibly a metric ton of it an any major college campus.

Well it is true that most people being killed by guns is in a defensive behavior or used by law enforcement. Also most all of the criminals obtain their guns elegally so whats the whole point of banning guns? Your just gunna make it worse.. :)

The article linked to in Southpaw's post is great, read it if you haven't already. Some of the examples of the rediculousness of the British (government's/courts') idea of justice are nothing short of shocking.

In 1999 Tony Martin, a 55-year-old Norfolk farmer living alone in a shabby farmhouse, awakened to the sound of breaking glass as two burglars, both with long criminal records, burst into his home. He had been robbed six times before, and his village, like 70 percent of rural English communities, had no police presence. He sneaked downstairs with a shotgun and shot at the intruders. Martin received life in prison for killing one burglar, 10 years for wounding the second, and a year for having an unregistered shotgun. The wounded burglar, having served 18 months of a three-year sentence, is now free and has been granted £5,000 of legal assistance to sue Martin.

I don't know about you guys, but that makes me sick. Life in prison for shooting at men breaking into your home? Here's hoping the Brits wake up and smell the.. tea? ..before it's too late for too many.

Typical media bias. The only thing the media wants to do is create more hype for it's own gain and ratings.

"There's something in your house RIGHT NOW that could destroy you and your whole family, tune in tonite to see what it is."

read some of those they are good points

i especialy like "That banning rifles with bayonet lugs will cut down on all the drive-by bayonetings."

" Number of physicians in the US: 700,000.

Accidental deaths caused by
physicians per year: 120,000.

Accidental deaths per physician.... 0.171 (U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services)

Number of gun owners in the US: 80,000,000

Number of accidental gun
deaths per year (all age groups): 1,500.

Accidental deaths per gun owner: 0.0000188

Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than
gun owners. Not everyone has a gun, but everyone has at least one doctor.
Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors
before this gets out of hand. I have withheld the statistics on lawyers
for fear that the shock could cause people to seek medical aid.”
