The tank should have an expiration date on it. If the current date is past the expiration date on the tank then you need to Hydro your tank. If you can't find the date, bring it to where you fill your tanks and they can tell you if it's expired.

Sorry to confuse you. The date on the tank is actually when the tank was manufactured not an expiration date. Most tanks have a three to five year period between hydro tests. It will say right on the tank how often you need to retest.

Steel/Aluminum tanks are all 5 years from last hydro/manufacture. Fibre-wrapped are mostly 3 years, there is one manufacturer which is certified for 5 years, but I can't remember which one.

: Where can I find info on how to read hydro test dates for all manufactures?

On my crossfire 68/3000 the date is 4-99...it is listed, however, in this manner. Ill point out where the date is...this is the label
the asterisks denote numbers and letters and junk idont feel like typing

DOT-****** 3000 PSI
TC-**** 207 BAR
*****-***** M**** 04-****-99

mfd by:
Pressure technology division
etc etc etc

notice the 04-****-99

thats the date...right hand side middle of the label usually
