My favorite OS, is BeOS. However, I don't use it anymore.

After that, I would say Solaris 8, which is just spiffy on Intel machines. Then Linux on my laptops, since it has better wireless support but doesn't do NFS well at all. I pretty much love all the UNIXes big and small, except SCO. I hate SCO. Being beaten to death with my own limbs would be better than SCO.

I haven't tried MacOS X... but that leads me to...

MacOS 9.1, which is what most of my family uses. I runs on my iMacs and runs all the games I want... i.e. more games than I have time for :)

And then the Windows NT/2000 family, which I only use at work, because, well they force me to.

I don't like getting into computer crap, I've grown up around it and sick of it. I use windows 2000 now and like it the most. I get it for free :)

Windows 2000 - not the 9x crap Microsoft tries to pawn off to the unknowing... Macs are nice, but too different for me, I'm comfortable with Windows. Linux is my next challenge, I have one set up in my office, just for fun! :D

If we're talking network OS's, I'm partial to Novell's NetWare 5. I am a Certified Novell Engineer (CNE), and use it at work everyday. There are stories of Novell servers being boarded up in buliding (by accident) and they run for years, without anyone knowing where they are! Good stuff!

Just My 2¢...
