View Full Version : To Show Support....

To show my support for our great nation and the immediate victims of the attacks, I will be displaying a special Signature Image that I created. We are all victims in one way or another and we will all need the support of our fellow Americans.

I don’t want to get too wordy (like you would think I would EVER say that), but anyone who would like to share in my special way of support can use this Signature Image as well.

I overlooked the fact that the new system allows HTML in the Signature, and not just UBB/vB Code. The old one did not.

So to make it easier, I will post the code here the way it can be just cut and pasted into people’s signatire:

<b>&lt;img src=”http://www.gbsu-usa.net/boss/respect.gif” width=100 height=76 border=0&gt;</b>

Thank you and God Bless.
-------------------------------------------------------
Added for reference from another Thread:

It is made up of 3 major parts…

The Official Seal of the United States:
This symbol has deep meaning within it. Its elements represent many things, but I will not get into them all at this point. I used it to represent the Government of the United States and those working FOR the Government, such as the Police, Fire Department, Armed Forces, Rescue personnel, etc.

The Flag of the United States:
This symbol has deep meaning within it as well. And as with the Seal, I will not go into each of its elements at this time. I used it to represent our great Nation as a whole. Its people and spirit.

The Black Ribbon:
This symbol is one of respect and mourning for those lost in the attack. (note: If we go to War over this, or send troops of any kind to enact our response, I will be adding a Yellow stripe to the Black Ribbon to signify our desire for the safe return of our troops. Thus the ribbon will be made of 2 stripes, one Black and one Yellow.)

The combination of all three elements, create a deep and heartfelt symbol. It unites our Nation, Government, Agencies, and the Masses, in a common cause and respect. We set aside out differences and focus on what makes us who we are, and the nation we truly are as well.

I hope this better explains what the Image stands for, as well as why so many are using it.

For those who are using this Symbol…. Thank you. It means more than you can know.

At the top of the page go to your user button. Click on it and copy and then insert the image URL with the brackets around it and the img and /img stuff and submit the update. Just like a picture would be inserted.

You go to your profile section in User Controls (user cp button). Then you go to where it has your Signature. Then you type in the image command, followed by the image location, and then close the image command. I will now show you the exact code, BUT I will replace the [ with a {. You do the same thing but replace all the {'s and }'s with [ and ].

{img}http://www.gbsu-usa.net/boss/respect.gif{/img}

Then save your changes.

I hope this helps.

Evidently you did not code it correctly in your Signature. Re-check it, and make sure you have the correct IMG tags and correct location of the image.

Then, when you get it right, you can go back and delete your other posts. :) That will help keep things clean.

Thanks.

I have been asked that as well as if people could use it on their Web Sites.... yes.

All I ask is that credit is given. Nothing special is needed, I just don't want to see it all over the place and see people claim THEY made it. I am sure you can understand that.

As some of you probably know, I'm in the Navy and stationed in Japan now. These attacks are creating havoc everywhere. It really means a lot to me to see everyone rallying to support in this most disasterous of times.

Thank you all,

Since we have officially committed troops and began the attacks, I have (as I said I would) added the yellow stripe to the Black ribbon. If you are not familiar with the meaning of this symbol, here it is again:

No problem guys.

I have also made it so it will work better for those of you who have been using it on other Message Boards with DARK backgrounds (Yes, I keep track of these things… and I know who you are. LOL). You will now notice it works much better.

God Bless the USA!
