Just a quick question for everyone out there.

What is your favorite length of barrel? I don't care about accuracy or spin or name brands, i'm talking length.

Personally, I've always like the shorter barrels myself, so sleek so sexy. My current setup has me running a 10", but i have an 8.5" coming in and i'm bidding on a 5". I would definately pay for something shorter, does anyone know where I could get one with the normal 'Mag "threading"?

So to recap
Current
---------- 10"
Soon
--------~ 8.5"
Hopefully
----- 5"

I used to be all about the 12 inch because it was so perfect. 14 inch has kinda grown on me though because i only really play airball and I can push the bunker in.

i like 12-14s. so you can push the bunker in a little bit with the barrel. unless if you are front, then 10 should be alright

Personally it seems the only people who prefer short barrels are rec ballers. My Sceptor tip is 14in but I regret not getting a 16in tip. Playing on older SupAir feilds are fine but on newer ones or Ultimate Air feilds the bunkers are alot stiffer making it hard to push into. I hate when I'm playing and know that I would have a much better angle posting if my barrel was 2in longer.

well i've never played Sup air, but i've played with everything up to a 21" spyder barrel back in the day and something about having a marker that is almost 3 feet long (i'm only 5'6" myself) just felt awkward.

I have had an 8" to a 21". The 21" was fun to mess around with and had great accuracy (side note: sold it to a local noob woodsballer) but it was monstrious. The 8" was bad, bad accuracy and very loud.
So Anywhere from 12"-16" is my preferance

Personaly for me, it all depends on what type of field im playing on, as on the main fields il use a 12" or 14" barrel. While on the plywood village field, il go sumtimes as short as 6" so I can stay right up againt cover without a barrel sticking out past the edge of the walls.

I used to use a 14" boomy on my old spyder, which I found to have decent accuracy, but a tad bit long. Not enough to hamper, but just conspicuous to me. Then I used the A5's flatline for a few months, which seemed prone to getting shot at more than I was. Right now I'm using an 8" barrel on my minimag, that's so short I've had people tell me I dropped my barrel. I tend to use it like an Uzi ;) The only really important distinction I noted with lengths came when I spent some time in tanks at Wayne's World: if you play in a tank, it is VITAL you use at least a 10"+ barrel. What I found is that the A5 proved impossible to stick through the ports on most tanks, and very difficult to aim. The boomstick was much better, but because of the porting, paint would drip into the barrel from rubbing against the port flap, screwing up accuracy.

12" is my personal favorite. I don't feel right with anything else anymore.

I am a fan of the 12 incher as well. I have a 14 inch for my mag, although it comes out to about the same length as my 12" teardrop on my spyder. I guess its because of the twistlock. Its a good length for woods, and it seems to be alright for some speedball too.

10" on most,have 8" on some for the ultra tiny set up.Also have a Micromag-foregrip+5" barrel=Mag pistol!

There are benifits to different lengths depending on how and where you play. There really is no "right" answer.

It's going to differ somewhat in effective length from gun to gun however..which means some people are going to find 10 and 14 about the same as 12.

14"

16" on sup air.

i shoot 12 inchers.

it seems pretty good, exp. playing front/snake on an xball field. (not xball, just the field) When i play back more, id be nice to have a 14, but 12 is better overall.
