I found these auctions on ebay and found them very questionable and thought I'd let people know about them:

These auctions are all being posted by the seller bow-whap and most of them are over $100 - but people do not know they are bidding on a link. I have been trying to e-mail people, but as soon as they retract their bids someone else fills in the empty spot thinking that they're getting a good deal. I'm afraid because this guy is located in Canada, and it states in the auction that it is for a link, this guy is going to get away with $600 - $700 cash and not have to come up with anything. I wanted to know if anyone will help me e-mail the people so they don't make a big mistake.

These kinda things been going on far a while now.You can't save everybody who refuse to read from thier own stupidity.

Some people MUST learn the hard way,if at all.

Jay.

That still doesn't make it right...

Whether or not these people are ignorant is beside the issue - this guy is going to get away with AT LEAST $600 of people's hard-earned money. Ignorant or not, I feel informing them is the right thing to do.

I dont think people should learn. The guy gives a description as though hes describing the actual item you get. Then UNDER all the paypal stuff, it says in small print. Its not obvious like others, and if you didnt say something I may have also not noticed.

I saw one of those auctions yesterday as well... I'm glad your reaction was to email the bidders, it's a good thing to do. Hopefully people will wise up and people selling links that look like markers will lose their business.

Unfortunately, these link sellers won't go out of business because their overhead is zero. :)

Sure, knock yourself out.;) There's 1000 of those auctions running everyday.

I think it's clear enough if you "read" the auction. But what ever.

While your at it,there's another 1000 or so a day that are charging $100+shipping,best get to work.:D

Actually, these listings are prohibited by the ebay user agreement. The right thing to do is to contact the seller and inform them of their mistake or report them.

5 prohibited listings. I'd say his account is quickly on its way to being closed.

He obviously has other accounts because he has 2 positive feedbacks. I will bid on the items and not pay him, but inform him of what he is doing wrong when I win the auction if the price gets high enough.

I found that on ebay. And yes, I reported all of his auctions. And no, there AREN'T 1000s of them on ebay because they are being cracked down on. Hopefully ebay will end these auctions before it's too late and these people all lose their money.

IT WORKED! I reported all the auctions to ebay and now NONE of those link work. I didn't think they'd do it, but I'm happy to say all those people have been saved from fraud.
