within the past few minutes, i have received numerous viruses through my e-mail with a single .zip file attached to them, containing a worm or sorts

i'm alerting any AO who gets similar messages from an unknown source that they SHOULD NOT open the .zip attachment - and that they should promptly delete the e-mail from their inbox and also delete it from their trash can

here is an screenshot of the 3 e-mails that i have received so far that contain the infected .ZIP files

here's the yahoo news report on it:

thank god that Trend Micro, my virus software was updated just minuted before i received the first e-mail containing an infected file

I've got 15 or so over the course of today.

Also, I've got some returned mail: user unknown messages
I reda those and it looks like my email addy is sending stuff out like that, too.

How do I stop that?

pretty much all you can do is block sender and that isnt going to do much at all.

just keep your antivirus updated and hope it goes away soon.

thos unreturned mail things are not you sending them out, its another virus e-mail that was sent to you along with the others

just another way to mess with your head and make you open the infected e-mail

on a side note:
One of our teachers opened one and the school systems computers went to hell. Grades are going to be later

Yeah I figured that out when I never sent any thing. Now I just delete anything from people I dont know. On a side note I think its starting to die down, only gotten 1 more since about 5 hours ago. Hopefully its over now...

Yeah, I just got another one probably 1-2 hours ago but it's slowing down gradually....

That initial pic that I took in the 4th or 5th post was just from 30 mins. of getting tons of them... Since then I have probably gotten another 15 or so.

STUPID LITTLE KIDDIES ON THEIR DADDIES COMPS!!!!! GO AWAY! hehe

SCO (the targeted company of this worm attack) has issued a $250,000 bounty for anyone that can provide enough information about the people behind this to lead to an arrest.
