View Full Version : What could I do to prevent welts turning into scars?

Well, the past weekend, on a failed bunker run during tourney practice, I took 5 shots to my right bicep. It looked pretty cool at first because they formed a triangle, but then I noticed how gross it would be if they all left a scar.

I was wondering if AO could give me advice of some ointment or something I could put on them to mitigate the chance of scarring.

Thanks!

give them some loving..

but i dont think they will scar up,i have took a beating before too and never got a scar. i wouldnt care if i did though, it would only be some battle wounds!

But some chicks dig scars!

Try using neosporin on them.

Yes, but others think they look like cigar burns. Thanks for the suggestion--I assume neosporin always works for you?

That's EXACTLY what I was going to say, but it means quite a bit more coming from a girl. :p

Ususally, if I take a few on the arm or something, I'll wear short sleeves the week, just to show them off! :)

I''ve never had any turn into scars. I do have some that the skin hasn't quite darkened completely, but whatever. You want to put neosporin on it, like Clare suggested. The commercials say it reduces scarring, so it must, right? ;)

anyways, go with the neosporin if ya dont want scars. or you can keep them and get chicks with scar fetishes.

I have one on the inside of my leg that turned into a scar. An odd-shaped circular scar. Fun to show to people, but it bled alot when i got shot, as if someone took a knife to my leg. So unless yours were like that I would think your fine.

Neosporen will do it, unless that is theres no skin left at all, Ive had a couple of those...

and I've still got the scars, years later

Umm... those are nipples. :D :p

I've never gotten a scar, and I always show off my welts. I'll "accidentally" leave a portion of my arm exposed to get the chicks interested. ;)

No, but I actually did have a welt that resembled a nipple, right inbetween my two nipples

If you are that concerned...

Clean the area

Make sure that it does not get re-injured while it heals

Use a vitamin E containing lotion several times a day on the area. Better yet, go down to GNC, and buy vitamin E gel caplets. Slice one open, and apply the liquid inside as if it were an ointment.

I had one that looks exactly like the picture CaptainChops posted, except it's about 3 inches below my right clavicle. I wonder how well his welt healed up.

The 5 on my arm broke the skin in a perfect circle, but didn't bleed. The only ones that have somewhat bled are neck shots.

I never really took the time to think about welts until tonight when my mom asked me about the 5 on my bicep. ;) Most of the time, I only take a shot on the hopper.

EDIT: I'm not overly concerned; it's just that I asked to see if there was anything I could do to appease my mom.

I never used it before but I had a really bad welt on the back of my neck once. Looked more like a bloody gash than a welt (definitely got me some weird looks at the airport). I was convinced that I'd have a scar since it was pretty deep. Anyway, I put neosporin on it every day until it healed and you can't even see anything anymore.

in a practice back in june, i got bunkered and hit in the arm. i still have a scar about as visable as a normal welt. some chicks dont dig paintball scars. Its all about scars from hockey. now chicks dig those.

In a bunker rush (we both ran to the same bunker at the same time, and I was using my bros Impulse) I turn the corner around the bunker and pull the trigger. Whoooo, gun doesn't shoot, and just makes a weird noise at me. Anyhow, I got shot 3 times in the arm, and one left a nice scar that's been on my arm for at least 5+ months.

It's already been stated, but Vitamin E oil is the best thing you can use. You can get it in a tube at GNC and it works much better than neosporene.

As already stated: Neosporin (or similar) if it's an open wound, and vitamin E.

To help strengthen the little blood vessels that break and cause bruising in the future, skip the Flintstones chewables in the morning and take vitamin C tablets containing Biofavinoids - over time you'll notice the bruising heals a lot faster.
