Ya know, I ordered 6 reg seats for my AA Raptor (costing about 14$), and regular shipping was $20?!?!?! ..

I emailed AA letting them know I was a bit dissappointed in having to pay more in shipping then the parts themselves.

I get the notice today and I have to now pay $5 brokarage fee?!?!?!?! (I am in Canada)

My GOD!!! 6 tiny pieces of rubber cost me over $40?!?!?!

*sigh* ... FedEx is sooo much cooler :(

Happens to me all the time, mate.
Shipping rates have become exhorbant in recent years.
It's beginning to hurt internet sales as a result.

I usually get my stuff within 2 weeks of ordering from anywhere in the US when ordered by USPS. I've been using it for the past 10 years and have had great luck.

wow, that is really expensive!! Why didn't you just request that they send the parts via FedEx if it is cheaper?

Am I the only still trying to figure out why the thread starter thinks UPS is not that great? UPS only charged a brokerage fee and others have stated that alternative shipping methods might cost more when it's time to deliver the item.

AA charged you shipping, not UPS.

Its the brokerage fee that kills us here in Canada. Quite often UPS charges us more for brokerage than for shipping. If an item has a listed value $500.00, it could end up costing us an additional $100.00 or more for brokerage above the shipping costs. USPS is only $5.00 for brokerage and usually gets here just as quickly or in my case almost always arrives in less time than UPS ever did.
