F.Y.I.

Here are some marker weights for comparison.

Most are setup the same (i.e. HPR, Uni-Mount, Bottom Line), a couple have the standard ASA instead.

I used a digital kitchen scale.

cool beans. Kinda funny that the 2k1 cocker weighs less than the CCM.

The 2k1 cocker body and HPR has more meat milled out of it than the Series 5 body and HPR. Also the 2k1 cocker frame is plastic (composite).

Jack,
I just started working on this huge weight matrix in excell. It helps if you weigh them in grams, alittle more precise since 1lbs= about 454grams.

anyways good post.

Thanks :)

Yeah, I probably should have switched to grams. Next time!;)

What a great post!

If the spyder had an expansion chamber/regulator it would probably weigh more than the ULE Mag right?

Gotta make sure that ULE is the lightest!

The gz is kinda skewed, since no guns are sold with the double reg anymore.

True... but remember, this is a weight comparison of my markers, not stock markers ;)

This was just to give an idea of how these different guns weigh according to how I like them setup... :)

For entertainment purposes only, not for official my-gun-is-better-than-yours reference.:D

Dang the ULE emag and timmy weighed the same. I thought the timmy would still have it beat. I need to get my hands on a ule emag one of these days.

J&C,
or anyone for that matter can you tell me what the weight difference of a stock emag trigger frame and a ULE emag trigger frame is. I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Helpful thread BTW Thanks.

i'll put a nasty typhoon on a digital scale tomorrow just for you. :)

I'm also going to put a few other "oddball" markers on, just for kicks.

I'm supar!

Thanks! I have two typhoons in my shop and a Nasty Typhoon on the way…. but I don’t have a digital scale (aside from our bathroom scale, but that only reads whole LBS).

LOL Yeah, that one!

Yup, the grinder is definitely a crusher and not for the “featherweights”. ;) Of course I bet I can snap-shoot a bit quicker with my Stroker than the Grinder. LOL (Of course who needs to snap when you look like the Mini-gun scene from Predator?!?! ;) )

Honestly what type of camera do you use J&C?
You've got some of the best quality pics around here.

Yes, he does take nice pictures…. But in all fairness, all the pictures he posted were not taken by him. ;)

The one he posted of mine was taken with just an Olympus C3020. I use that for most of my pictures.

Thanks for the nice comments guys:)

My camera gear:

Canon EOS 10D
17-40mm f/4 L USM (wide angle lens)
50mm f/1.4 USM (for low light shot, portraits, and very nice bokeh:))
28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM (general purpose, walk-about lens)
Canon 550 EX Flash

Most cameras can produce really nice shots too. You just have to know their capabilities and limitations.

Although there are a few factors that my gear gives me that you probably don't have (lens quality, 6 MP, extremely low noise CMOS sensor, etc.), I think your average cameras can do a great job if most people just knew how to light their scene correctly.

In my photos, I just turn the flash around (it can pivot 180) and bounce the flash off the ceiling. ;)

Exactly! Lighting, knowing the limitations of your equipment, and I will add camera angles to that. Composition is an important factor for a great picture as well. Just being in focus is not enough for a truly great picture… IMHO.

Now we know how J&C can afford all those markers! He's a drug dealer! Why else would you need a digital scale at home? :D

Jack & Coke
02-04-2004, 11:43 AM
Shartley,

Oh yeah... it also helps to know a little something about Photoshop too ;)

-----------------------------------------------

melster,

Drug dealer? lol...:D

When I bought that scale, my wife thought I was going to use it in the kitchen to weigh my food for cooking (I like to cook too:p ).

I was all, "...ah.. yeah, that's it!"

The only things that have ever been put on that scale have been paintball related stuff.

LOL!

btw, are you going to the Paintball Expo in Pomona this weekend? http://www.automags.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=121422

Jack, anyway you could weigh the unimount, a couple macro fittings, and a few inches of macro line?

Tryng to get an idea of how these compare to a DM4. DM4's supposedly weigh 36.8 ounces without the above listed.

E-Mag is heavier because it's electro, all the lightest ones there are mech. Mechs are always lighter that electros.

I weighed the markers as you would actually be holding them in a game... sans hopper, barrel, and tank.

Then it's not really as you would be holding them in a game, is it?

Not that it matters, assuming you're using the same barrel/tank/hopper on each one. The threading on the barrel might make some difference, though I doubt it'd be noticible.

Jackmeng... u shoulda weighed all those markers without all the bottomline stuff, hoseline, and fittings. Just kept it base markers.
