looks nice, but it also looks a great deal like the alias.

Same grip frame as the Alias and it is based off the same platform. In real life the body looks very different to the Alias. The alias is very 'edgy' this is more 'sleek'.

is there any weight shaved off? and is it me or is the feed tube moved way back too? internals swappable with alias?

Wow that is the only timmy I have ever wanted. Alias price range? or is this expected to be another "warped sports out of the ballpark price fiascos"

Very nice. It actually makes me like Timmies :)

isnt it an alias with just different milling, I bet it will be a couple hundred more, because its warped. But anyway I think the empire looks better, just because manike designed it.

manike
02-04-2004, 04:29 PM
errmm... Guess who designed this one? ;)

I did work from a concept design from the guys at Warped though. I just 'tweaked' it and made it fit into the alias package.

I don't have any clue on prices/times etc. Not my job.

Same insides as the Alias/2k4 line of guns. The 2k4 line does have the feed neck moved back.

It's a very sleek gun design, which is what warped wanted. With the advent of X-ball etc, cleaning more complex outsides can be a pain, so they wanted to develop a smoother style. It reminds me of a 'jet fighter' in my hand.

Manike,

Are you working at all on the Evil Omen? I think that a more fluid design, or even something ribbed like nicad's "Chord V2" would be awesome!

what are its dimensions? length/height/width/weight that thing looks small, Sexy tho i like the sleek body

barberjohn
02-04-2004, 08:14 PM
hmm, it seems as though a timmy can be made not to be 10 feet long:D ! looks good, but all we need is another variant of the intimidator. i think there are enough out there for people to choose, and more choices makes for more confusion. thats why i like agd, they keep it simple.

manike.....got any more pictures of that gun? I cant really see the lines in the black picture and was wonderin what a production one actually looks like (cad drawings dont really do many guns justice)

Timmys are starting to look pretty sweet. I considered buying one last week but went with the A4. I wish they would loose the big hump on the back of the grip frame and the big hawking gauge on the side. Also why do regulator designers think its a good idea for the air inlet to be jutting out of the side where someones hand should be?

More sleek and all, but what is with the huge gauges on the vertical regulator? Do the timmies, need to be adjusted that preciesly?

The LCD will be in the gripframe like with the Alias/2K4/Empire.

The gauge looks big because of the angle of the photo. You can fit smaller gauges. The actual pressure doesn't matter so much as making sure you don't run a crazy high pressure.

I had never expected for these prototype images to be released. With contrasting ram sleeve and parts it's going to look very sleek and sexy.

post a price range ASA you can ;)

manike

I have nothing whatsoever to do with prices/supply/availability of any paintball stuff. :)

You need to ask Warped Sportz for that. Maybe E-mail and ask them?

No answer on the omen? Manike? Your car is awesome...drive it to PMI and redesign the omen!

manike
02-05-2004, 04:59 PM
Ok, I work for NPS... Omen is a PMI product... PMI is a big rival to NPS... The chances of me do anything for the Omen or PMI... let's just say a snowball has more chance in hell. :D

Damn manike, you do good work. I should send my GZ to you to "fine tune" it...as I havent really had the chance to play with it yet. Between being deployed, and only mostly attending AO events last year (in my brief time home), I havent had the chance to get my Timmy up and running yet.

Jeff

And you experience with an Omen is? I LOVE my omen, and it does just fine against all the e-bladed freeflows around here. Considering that, with the PDP chip, omens can hit up to 25bps, I highly doubt that they "suck anyway."

speedyejl

Omens aren't great, suck might be a little harsh but they have very poor tolerances and a unreliable operating system. Go read FaceFulls review pretty much somes it up.

I guess its just me, but I dunno how people like frames with da massive humps like that, Some Clamshell Timmies and the old Emags and such. It may feel more comfortable in your hands, but in the sake of effieciency in less weight and looks, ULE all the way.

They should slap on a different frame on that Dark Timmy... would be slightly hotter.

Those frames are ULE. They may look bigger, but there isn't more material in them. There is more fresh air in them... in order to fit parts inside. ;) :D

You can see it really well from Speedyjel's picture above. http://www.automags.org/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif

If I had my stuff from the UK here already I'd weigh the Alias frame in comparison to the ULE E-mag one. I'd bet there isn't much in it.

Many people who have shot frames with and without humps tell me they prefer humps like the old Nova, E-mag and timmy frames, they find it fits their hands well, especially if they shoot with the gun low down 'cali style' ;) .

our shop just ordered one, they got it for 1350, so retail will probably be like 1500 or something

How about instead of reading Face Full's review, I use one. Oh, wait - I already do. They don't suck. They hold up with the best of them, and Evil has some of the best customer service around.

Of course, your experience with an ACTUAL OMEN is zilch...

figures.
