mounting tanks question?

OK, I have a few questions. I am getting an adjustable tank that you have to mount on a cradle or a drop forward. Can somebody clarify how this process works? Will a drop forward work just as well as the cradle? Isn't there a hose that is connected to keep the tank connected? How do you get it filled? Do you need to use a quick disconnect on the tank? Sorry about all these questions, but I am coming from a screw in prest so this is new to me. Any input would be really nice.

Also if you guys could post some pictures showing how you mount your tanks would be greatly appreciated. Thanks:)

some tanks you can mount on certian cradles. if you get one of these tanks that must be mounted on a seperate cradle, then u need to buy the cradle. the bottom part of the cradle will unscrew into two halves, and you put the bottom half and top half around the tank and tighten it so it holds. then you stick this assembly onto the main part of the cradle and it tightens down. do a google pic search for paintball guns and your certain to run accross a good pic.

Mounting:
there are three types of mounting systems
A) "Screw-In" or "ASA". This is the type that a CO2 tank and most preset N2 tanks are. This is the most common. This requires an ASA screwin location either on a drop forward or on the grip itself. B) "Cradle". This type of tank requires a drop forward which has a circular ring that the tank neck or regulator fits into. This will clamp down to the tank. C) "Dovetail". This kind of tank requires a drop forward with a standard dovetail. These slide onto the dovetail and an allen screw locks them on. Hose:
All tanks will have a 1/8" NPT female threaded hole for the air to go out (or in the case of screw-in's, the ASA has the hole). Either way, putting a hose (microline, macroline and steel braided hose) into that hole and into the input of the gun is necessary. Usually two 90* elbows will be needed, although that depends on the configuation.

Filling
The tank is filled at any field that can fill N2 tanks. They will have the equipment to attach to the fill nipple (one way quick disconnect) on the side of the tank. Whats nice is that you do not have to remove the tank from the marker to fill it.

and, no, you don't need another QD to put on your tank.
a couple other notes:
some tanks have an on-off feature. This is nice as without it, the tank must be bleed empty before it can be removed from the marker, or you must have a proconnect or a slide check and quick disconnect inline between the tank and the marker.

for Jonesie i am running a minimag with a y-grip and retro valve into a nitroduck tank. I don't know the exact type of nitroduck tank it is.

I believe they are all screw in type tanks

thanks guys for helping, but I thought that at least one of the tanks nitro duck makes is one that you must mount. The guy I was trading with said it had to be mounted. I also went to a site selling nitro ducks and they sold mounting devices specifically for nitro duck tanks. Also, would a nitro duck tank provide me with good reactivity? Is the flow and recharge rate pretty high?
