well we had 22 roadsigns, a cone, and a blinking barracade, until about 1:30 when 6 cops showed up and took everything. it really sucks when they are telling you what kind of crime it is and you just want to laugh because we could barely fit everything into 1 police cruiser.
seriously though i guess they might prosecute us for having the stolen property, so that would suck.

Well....good.... I mean i guess stealing a sign is a boyish prank - but 22? Good god, staring your own city?

FYI many road signs typically use expensive 3M reflective vynal. And thus each sign costs $40-$200+ dollars to tax payers. So thats not very nice...

Not to mention the potential for an accident if one of them was a Stop sign. Or even the delay of an EMS call if they can't find the right street. Somebody could get killed or die from a prank.

There was a group prosecuted for Manslaughter for removing a stop sign in which a fatal wreck ocurred. Not sure how it turned out.

i put "our" on quotes because it wasnt really our stuff.

of the 22 signs at least 15 were given to us by parents and or our friends parents who rent out 20 properties, many to college kids, so we get first pick on all the stuff they leave behind. most were the weight limit signs, a few speedlimits, "wet tar", etc.

none of us stole stop signs. and cphilip as far as i know the conviction still stands on those kids.

i am certainly not defending our actions. hell it was perfectly illegal, and anything they bring against us is justified. i just wanted to tell everyone that it sucks.

My brother and his friends do the same thing, what i can't figure out is, What exactly were you going to do with them? i dont think a sign that says "Wet Tar" would look very nice hanging in your room. but whatever.

If you pay taxes, you can legitimize it like this-

There are X numbers of tax payers in America. Each tax payer pays Y amount of dollars. S amount of Y dollars, payed by taxpayers are sent to the highway dept. Your state's highay dept. has X number of cones/ barrels/ signs/ ect...Each cone/ barrel/ ect. costs S amount of dollars. So simply get how much each road object costs apiece. Find out how much (percentage) of the total tax dollars goes to the highway dept. Take that, and subtract it from that taxes you pay. The answer to that is D amount of dollars. If each road object only costs F amount of dollars, you, as a taxpayer, paid for N amount of road objects, and you are free to repossess your property anytime you like.

*Runs to his room to make sure the 2 cones and big orange barrel are still there.* :)
