Quick!! HELP!!

Ok, i just bought a ULE body and tried installed it on my classic.. the UL doesnt have the extra hole for that silver rod in the way front of the gun.. How am i supposed to take this silver rod type thing out so i can put my ULE body on!? Thanks!!
