Now I'm no expert on engineering, but wouldn't it be a good idea to make a Level 10 bolt out of derlin. This way it would be light, resulting in less recoil for the gun.

Am I right?

No, it doesn't work. I can't remember why, but I know it doesn't. Plus the bolt is already extremely light as it is.

I believe tom said that they couldn't get a durable enough delrin bolt, but he made the LX bolt as light as the bolt would have been if it was made of delrin.

the oil that mags love so much ended up swelling the delrin superbolt I, causing the delrin sleeve to crack and whatnot, resulting in a few instances of delrin shrapnel flying out of the barrel when the sleeve finally just broke apart...

thats why they don't make one

plus it wears wayyy too fast with it rubbing on the spring and all

Actually some of the original delrin superbolts were fine. My brother had the original delrin superbolt and it had many many cases of paint on it and had no problems, barely any wear at all. It seemed to be more of a variance in the tolerances from gun to gun that was the issue. Even so, the new superbolt in the LX package is about the same weight as the delrin one.

I have an original delrin bolt I am looking to sell to anyone that would like to have it as a collector item.
