View Full Version : Keep the viking?

With the whole SP thing going on should I dump the viking while I still can? Will AKA not making the viking anymore give me better resale or worse?

And I do know AKA will still make parts and service the gun, its not about that. I just was wondering if the resale was going to plummet and I should dump it, or that it wont change much.

Thanks for opinions

Edit 04 Viking by the way

i would keep it
the resale value should go up, plus it's a great marker!

I'm going to keep it. Hopefully when I do decide to get a new gun (Matrix/DM4 is all I will consider at this point as far as electros go), the resale will go UP.

a gun like a viking probably wont be matched soon by the other gun makers, so i would keep it.

Im keeping my 04... I assume resale will go up, and because they will still honor all warrenties, then why get rid of it? Chances are there will be no better marker any time soon...

I think it's so funny how everyone said the SP lawsuits wouldn't really affect anyone. And to think, this is just the beginning (well sort of).

Its the same thing as when I look at my e-mag, new to me.

Its still as good of, actually a better gun than when I ordered it, as is yours.

It will still function into the forseeable future (unless TK just blows away the industry with the 2005 AGD whatever) as a top competitor. In the past 4 years have markers really improved that much? Not really. Keep them, they will be good into the future.

the price will probably go up for a little while. than maybe in a year you will have a hard time selling it for a good price. I say keep your viking.

Nothing's value in paintball ever increases. Don't hold your breath.

I just picked up an Excal and I am going to keep it. AKA will be around for a while and there are enough guns out there for some techs to make som money fixing them. AKA makes some of the best guns out there IMO.

I feel bad for AGD and AKA because I don't believe they presented any real competition to SP. IMO mag users and AKA users represent a different market at least for now.

Sell it now so you can profit on the run for them.

jeez, dont listen to people. keep the gun, you will not find anything else that can outperform a viking, besides maybe an angel 4, but even those markers lie on their max bps counters:rolleyes: .

Not true. I saw a pair of Keely Watson's thong underpants, still warm from a day of paintball, going for quite a bit more on E-bay than what she paid for them originally.

I'd keep it if you like it. AKA's websute states they will not be closing their doors and will still manufacture parts and honor all warrantees

Many things go up in value... sydarm anyone?

I dont think it will be worth more than what it was new, but I Do think you will get more out of it. Unlike the tribal, the viking is a VERY good gun, and arguably the best electro on the market... people will still want them, especially if the warrenty is still honored.
