I heard when the 03 shocker was still in development that AGD was helping SP with it for a short time but then AGD backed out. Personally I think that this is BS but I want to know if it is true.

Nope im sure its untrue... I was at IAO last year when Tom first held and toyed with the 2k3 shocker. We musta put 3 tanks worth of air though the thing playing with it... I distinctly remember tom giving the actual inventor a kindhearted ribbing about the use of the one tube design, and how he is gonna have to deal with ppl thinking its a mag.

Not true, but it is true that the designer (who wasn't working for SP when he designed the Shocker) did want some help. I offered to help for a license but it didn't work out. Nice guy old mag fan from way back.

Saying you shot around 50 to 60 shots really isn't saying much.

Since we are sorta on the topic... Has Smart Parts actually designed anything they sell?

I mean really... anything

I know none of the shockers were designed by them at the very least.

The ironic thing about it is that the noob people think that mags are 03shockers... not the other way around.

Funny, I get at least 900 from my buddies 88 3k. With all day air, who really cares? The evolve bolt kit should drive the shots per tank to like 1000 with a 68/4.5. I guess it helps to not just spray and pray. See, I actually hit what I'm aiming at. Usually within 5-10 shots.

I can almost get a 1000 on my Emag with my 45/4500 flatline. With all day air I just fill up on my way back to the staging area after 2 or 3 games. Oh and I'll agree on the spray and pray part. Only time I do that when I'm helping my team advance up to either bunker or get to a closer bunker.

So 25-50 shots you've won a 5 man game all by yourself then. so you dont ever refill?

I get OVER 2000 shots on my viking with a 68/45 tank. Pwnage. :)

900 on an 88/30 isnt exactly a lot to brag about...

Well, not everyone gets 4500 fills.. heck, around here, I rarely see a fill over 2500psi because we have to use scuba tanks. Even cascading you're looking at one good fill if you're first in line, and it steadily declines after that. Efficiency is the #2 reason I don't want a new shocker. It's my #1 gripe against mags, and it's part of the reason I like "auto-cocking" and stacked tube electronic guns. Plus, from everything I've seen, the Evolve bolt has had drastically varying results.

oh, and by your numbers, a Shocker getting 900 from an 88/3k should already be getting ~1050 from a 68/45. Looks like the evolve wouldn't be helping you out much.

Thank you all for answering my question. The 03 shocker is about as efficient as a mag, maybe the mag a little more efficient. I recently bought a used 03 shocker off of a kid that was getting a dm4. I only bought it because the price was good. At first he wanted 600 for the 03 w/ vision and vert max flow, but I talked him down to 550. I still like my emag more since I got the 3.2 upgrade. I would say the only thing the 03 shocker has over the emag is good balance and its very light weight, other than that I definitely like my emag more.
