Alright, got my 2004 Max Flo in last night for $400. I've owned every generation max flo, and this clearly is the best yet. The changes I noticed:

-Much lighter (not much heavier than my crossfire preset)
-built in dove tail rail
-Filter in the fill nipple
-Fill nipple cover
-one piece (instead of 2 tubes)

Overall I'm very pleased. I must say, it came to me with the tank and regulator not screwed together. I called the place I bought it from to *****, but they said it is now standard like that. That way you can take it apart for plane trips, or change out bottles. You just thread it together and there is an oring that seals it (no tape, thread sealant or anything). Called SP and they confirmed.

Anyway, I'll try to get pics up tonight.

BTW: Lets keep this focused and not turn it into a Smart Parts is the Great Satan thread. They may have predatory business practices, but they do make good products.

Just bought a new-style dynaflow, with the detatchable dovetail mount. Since SP has made me, ah, upset, and the flatline is being discontinued, I was left with little choice.

I hope its better than before, because my old maxflo was total crap... and no, im not just saying that because I dont like smart parts.

EDIT: No more flatlines?? Care to enlighten me?

Glad to hear you're happy with your purchase. I think I'll stick with AA tanks though

I would get one, but only if I can get it used later. (yeah won't buy new products from SP)
It's nice to see them lighten up since maxs and the conquest are the only two sytems I've heard of that can be run without an inline reg.

Good choice on the Dynaflow over the new Maxflow. The new Dynaflow is still several oz. lighter than the Maxflow. Also, the Dynaflow can handle much more abuse and will probably last longer.

Man, this sucks. Someone bought a new SP product, I found out about Flatline tanks being cancelled, and was reminded of the E/Xmag cancellation all in the same thread

68magowner - sorry, I don't have any of the old ones. My last one was stolen thats why I replaced it with another max flo (insurance reasons).

I do like the look of the new Max Flos. But I honestly always had problems with spiking on MF. I owned 2 Impulses....way way long ago. An Adrenalin and a Rat. Both marker I had problems with the MF spiking and creeping. I found them a b**** to maintain.

Tell us how long the On/Off valve goes before it starts leaking. Best way to tell is to turn it off, disconnect the macro, and plug the loose end with your finger. It'll build up pressure slowly if you hold your finger there long enough. From what I've heard, ALL MF's on/offs do that after very few uses.... mine sure does.

My old (2k3) style max flo never leaked and I'll be surprised if this one does. Sorry to disappoint.

i'm definately getting a 04 max-flow, not just b/c they look cool and they work great, but my friend gets a discount b/c he's sponsered by smart parts. I know smart is a bunch of duschbags, but i'm getting a good price.
