I am purchasing a cocker which I intend to convert to a pump and would like to know what I look for to determine what year it is so I can buy the right parts for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
yo my brutha!!
it has something to do with the bolt in the front block. pre 2k is a different size than 2k+. i don't remember which is which though.
look at a cocker that you know is 2k+ and then look at the block bolt on yours.
hope that helps some!

The milling of the body , the length of the bolt and size of the back block.
Just about all you need be concerned with is pre/post99.
The older cockers have a large body with just one milled side for the timing rod.The back block is thicker and the bolt is longer.
The newer bodies are milled both sides , and have a short bolt and back block. There is also a difference in the hole where the front block mounts.I think the newer ones use a larger size(diameter) for the screw/volumizer through the front block.

Cut it in half and count the rings.
Sorry, I couldn't resist.
