I shoot "olympic style" Air Rifle and Smallbore. Its fun, but much different from pretty much any other shooting sport.

Here's a pic from Sydney in 2000... http://www.pilkguns.com/olypics/s319.jpg
(Not me, I haven't made it to the olympics...yet:) )

The funny "uniforms" you see them wearing aren't uniforms, but instead very stiff canvas and leather suits.
I always get funny looks when I go to a typical outdoor range and start pulling out equipment.

Honestly, who isn't a gun enthusiast on AO?

I shoot skeet, but not in any big contests, just for fun. I'm also looking for a reliable semi-auto .22 for target shooting. I don't want anything bigger though because i couldn't afford the ammo. Any suggestions?

I have a Ruger p90 45acp for just kicks but next on the list I have my eye on a Savage 22-250 for some long distance rodent shooting.

So what is the purpose of those suits? They do look kinda funny btw. Oh and the stance looks different too.

My theory, it helps them maintain positioning while shooting, like when professional bench pressers have those tight suits that keep thier arms in place, something to that effect.

I manage my local gun clubs clays area. Gotta love shooting for free.

Whoever was asking about a good .22 auto, get a Ruger 10/22. There are so many aftermarket parts out there for it, you can build any type of gun you like with it.

And they're ultra reliable.

Hey xmetal2001,

Amazing to see someone else here that shoots smallbore and air rifle. I've been in the sport for about 10 years myself. Haven't shot in the last few years because of college, but I'll get back into it once I start working and find a range near by. Hopefully I'll be working in Colorado Springs. ;)

What equipment do you use? I have an Anschutz 2013 (walnut stock) and a 2002 (pneumatic).

^-Agreed. The 10/22 is a nice little rimfire. Their MarkII pistols are pretty sweet to.

A good website for rimfire shooters, or any firearm enthusiast really, is www.Rimfirecentral.com. They can give you more info on the 10/22, and other rifles.

I don't shoot competatively. Considered it, just haven't decided to take on yet another obsession.

I do have an eclectic firearm collection, everything from muzzleloaders to Title II subguns.

I also hunt; both small and large game.

I don't have my own firearms, but i use my dad's .22 when out working. neither one of us remembers when it was last cleaned, but it still shoots. It's also pretty nice having a shop teacher that can sell assault weapons. (or just let us shoot them now and then) :D

yeah my dad has like 30 guns. I have a few myself, but my dad will pretty much give me any gun I want, just as long as he doesn't use it. He used to be a dealer, so he could get great deals on his guns. My friends dad has a frickin arsenal of over 60 guns it is insane. he has a gun case that is like 20 feet long.

Cool! I Shoot a Anschutz aluminum stock 2002CA, In smallbore i just started recently so I've been borowing one of my coaches rifles, a Anschutz aluminum 1913 I think. Actually the Walnut 2013 is the exact rifle I'm looking at. In smallbore I like the feel of the wooden stocks alot better.

In highschool we only shoot air rifle, so my chances to shoot smallbore are limited. Hope to get one soon though.

My newest "toy" is my new custom Kurt Thune Jacket and pants, I love it :)

Me:D

I have a Taurus .22 that my husband gave me.

He has .45 and a few antique revolvers, and some antique shotguns.

I plan on getting my own rifle to shoot skeet.

I am not a fuzzy animal killer, I don't have it in me.

I plan on getting a gun smithing license as well.

If someone were to break into the house, ummm I think they would have a problem :)

Their MarkII pistols are pretty sweet heck yah.. I've got a Stainless Ruger MarkII Target, with an uncut barrel (the one that looks cylindrical, not tapered up to the front sight)

I've latley been playing around alot with my Romanian .22 rifles, anyone else have one?

While I DO enjoy shooting, and guns...I'm not really big into it. Mainly because of finances. I own an extremely old Winchester (or is it Remington...phooey...I can't remember now!) single shot 12 guage. It was my grandpa's. He bought it used when he was a kid. I've only gone out once with it. A bit of pitting in the barrel, but otherwise, in good shape.

I've shot with a .22 before. Wish I had more time & money to be able to target shoot. I know I'd enjoy it. Some day...

i would be into guns more but in michigan you have to be 21 to own a handgun and if i were to get into guns i'd have to get into target shooting with .22 hangguns

Me...I used to have about 30 guns but sold off most to open Maxx years ago. Been slowly getting my collection back up.

Right now the obligitory 10/22, an old AR7 rifle (my first gun when I was 15) and a .45 Commander for a carry gun.

Anyone else here see Kayle's Barrett? 50cal built it and I got to shoot it once. AWESOME!

I shoot. Used to do plate shoots with both pistol and rifle. Currently own a Glock 21, Mossberg 500, Savage .308 made for a lefty, and a hand built (by me) m-4 civilian version.
As for my stuff here...M203, SAW, M240, M2...and various things that go BOOM ;)

I'm thinking about getting an M1 Garand or a Tommy Gun.

anybody know if the crosman C02 powered pistols are considered small bore/airgun class???

I have a few guns also. Ruger KP944 stainless 40S&W, Taurus Raging Bull 454 Casull, Ruger M77MKIIVT - bull barrel .223 (nice 50 gr. ballistic tip makes the prairie dogs vaporize), an old Stevens 12 ga pump, and a few misc .22s for cheap plinking.

Hey Brad, I have two friends here that run a small gunsmithing outfit that actually make .50s, they use Remington trigger groups and buy raw barrels that have been rifled, but the rest they make from scratch. I have not had the opportunity to dislocate my shoulder yet, but hopefully where the next rifle is complete I will get my chance. :D

Yet another AO gun enthusiast right here. I shoot trap, olympic style air rifle and small bore (or i did in high school, haven't in a few years) and I'm an avid hunter.
