Well,

I have the greatest job in the world and today is slow so I get to clean my 'mag at work from yesterday... I am about to throw some oil in the ASA but I don't have my gun oil with me.. is 3 in 1 (general purpose) oil ok for a mag? I used to use it back on my spyder (gah) back in the day but this is the first time I've thought about using it in my mag.. I don't want to damage it, etc..

Thanks,
Rob

Hmm, doesn't 3 in 1 eat seals because its petrolium based? :)

3 in 1 is petrolium based. It will eventualy eat your o-rings. O-ring issues are more importans in the Mag than in the Spyder. The Spyder has it's own issues. ;)

Well it will get me by for the time being.. I am going to redo all the o-rings, etc in a few weeks before the Fall Brawl in Bridgewater (I notice you are from Hingham)... They should be ok by then :)

Thanks,
Rob

Whenever I run out of paintball gun oil I use Pneumatic tool oil. It seem to be just as effective as paintball gun oils and has anti gumming agents in it to keep it from getting all sticky. I get mine from my local Wal Mart.

Transmission fluid works great too. I used it in my cocker for a year and a half and had no problems and now I have been using it for 4 months on my mag. Plus, transmission fluid is 2 bucks for a liter.

That's a sweet looking Mag.

I think Paintball gun oil was discussed in Deep Blue before the server change lost all the threads and several people talked about using pneumatic tool oil in their guns. The general consensus was that it was fine.

Transmission Fluid is very toxic and is absorbed through the skin. I would refrain from using any automotive fluid product on your gun:cool:

So you are saying just while I do not get it on my skin it is ok for my gun? Hmph, I didn't see any warning label on it.

He's saying if it's bad enough for your skin, don't use it in your gun. KC Trouble Free is the BEST oil you can use in any paintball gun.
